Feeling very relieved tonight after my first ever call out as a Community First Responder. I did it!!! 💪🏻 and I think I made a difference 😊🚑🚨

Aphrodite vase 😍 (taken in my kitchen which is about 200 yards from the old clay pit where they used to extract the raw materials) My little Hornsea bungalow is a doerupper and I had to have some Hornsea pottery here...and fame tulips clearly 😆
I am absolutely furious. Raging!!!! 🤬🤬🤬 The BBC has put pretty much everyone at BBC Radio Humberside at risk of redundancy. What a total waste of time and a total betrayal of us all. I’m unlikely to lose my living but you will lose services if this goes ahead

With a few rare exceptions I think it’s rank when I have to watch any couple snogging on telly. Any age; any gender - it’s gross 😝 To me it is rather like eating. Wonderful when you’re getting stuck in yourself but a bit disgusting to watch. I can’t be the only one?
PD Logan is such a brave boy ❤️🐶 He was shot 3 times in the face and STILL caught the gunman. He and his handler PC Ian Sweeney (who was also shot) got a bravery award 🥇 I should think so too 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

In 2020 I gained weight; rarely put on a proper bra, and wore practical and ugly shoes. Today I stuck two fingers up to “letting myself go” & skated across an icy footpath in these beauties. I’m starting the way I mean to go on and will wear lipstick

I’ve shed a few tears this week because my time as a permanent fixture

Today this nice fisherman watched out for me as I swam with a MASSIVE grey seal!!! 🌊🦭😍 It kept swimming closer to peer over the waves and see me. We were face to face feeling fascinated with each other. Just me and the seal. Precious memories and a face I’ll never forget 🦭🥰

Thanks so much to everyone who’s been asking after my Mummy. She successfully came through a heart valve replacement on Weds and has already been moved off the intensive care unit. We are beyond thankful for all your love and hope to be enjoying summer days out again soon 🍦❤️🙏🏻
I’m still trying to get my head around this. I’m absolutely gutted for his wife Helen and their children 💔 I’m also thinking of my good friends who truly loved him 💔

I can’t begin to tell you how sad I am about this news. Andy is a fine journalist and broadcaster. I hope he stays on our team. His warmth as a colleague and wealth of experience is irreplaceable ❤️
The news about my job has come out. I reapplied for my job - one of fewer roles. I was unsuccessful and I am now talking to the BBC to try to avoid compulsory redundancy. I don’t want to talk about the process but it hasn’t been easy. Thanks for your messages and support.
My wonderful parents 🥰😍❤️ Married 50 years today. My sister & I are so blessed to have been part of Team Thomson for most of their 5 decades together. It’s been a safe and warm place and so much fun. It still is ❤️

Are we living in a world where people won’t believe an election result now? ..and don’t believe in science and the truth of a pandemic? ..and genuinely believe news organisations make stuff up? How can societies thrive in this toxic and divisive situation? What will become of us?

Unbelievably happy to have managed a swim this morning before the sea gets nasty again 🌊 It was absolutely freezing and a bit wild but just what I needed after a stressful week. It’s like icy magic 🌊🥶🥰

Andy is so good at what he does. Who else would resume local programming after the death of our late Queen and who could do a better job of our overnight election coverage? He’s one of a kind and I’ll miss him on my radio.
I’m still hoping he’ll remain a colleague though 🤞🏻🙏🏻❤️
So begins my last week as a radio presenter. It all began in 1995 when I started standing in on some programmes and I’ve presented a daily radio show for over 25 years. This Friday is my last. Here’s a photo of how it began & I’ll try to dig out some more photos this week.
The last-ever Burnsy Show on

I wonder if another sign with information on who to ask for help if you’re struggling with the cost of these items might be a good idea. Do you have some put aside that you can give to women and girls in dire straits?
supermarkets and off-licences really need to get in the bin with these. I’m pretty sure that the last thing any person who’s considering shoplifting period products needs is shaming, let alone criminalising.
I’m in the spare room in the hope I don’t catch Covid from my lovely husband. Really would much rather be snuggling up. Even the horrible lamp doesn’t stop me feeling lucky to have a safe place to sleep tonight though.
No Mow May has rewarded me with an orchid. An actual orchid that’s been living in my lawn and being sliced up every year. I’m absolutely loving all the life and colour
