A week from today is my 1st CT scan since dx of Stage IV EGFR-mutated
#lungcancer
. I started targeted therapy in Dec. One pill a day, cough is gone, feeling terrific. My favorite tree in the backyard is starting to bud. Spring brings hope. ❤️to all
Happy hour! Out of surgery for
#lungcancer
. I can’t tell I’m down one lobe. Briefly saw surgeon—he says “we got it.” Been walking, drinking ginger ale, eating saltines. Still have chest tube in. Will be going to room one n a few. ❤️Love to all.
‘No new metastatic disease:’ Good news in 1st CT scan, 2 months after lobectomy, and continuing one-pill-a-day targeted therapy for Stage 4
#lungcancer
. In Dec it was in both lungs and lymph nodes. In April I was NED (no evidence of disease). Now, scans every few months. 🫁💊🥳

Pretty much best possible news from today’s bronchoscopy for stage 4
#lungcancer
. Pending biopsy, Tagrisso resolved all lymph nodes, other lesions, only thing left is what’s left of original tumor. Looking good for surgery (and Tagrisso) for long term success. ❤️to all.
Good news popped up on my phone on my way out of pulmonary rehab — my yearly brain MRI came back clear.
#Lungcancer
often metastasizes to the brain. Thankfully, my one-pill-a day targeted therapy also reduces the risk of brain mets. 🫁🧠💪🎉❤️
What a difference 5 months makes! In Nov I was dx w Stage 4
#lungcancer
. Today my oncologist tells me I have No Evidence of Disease. 🎉NED is to cancerous tumors as remission is to blood cancers. The signs and symptoms of cancer are no longer present. It’s not ‘cured,’ but…
...the reason the crowd was disbursed with smoke cannisters is that at that moment, officers were being pelted with water bottles. Another factor was that protesters had climbed on top of the structure at the north end of Lafayette Square that had been burned the day before.
Good news on 1st CT scan since dx of Stage IV EGFR-mutated
#lungcancer
. Lesions shrinking, no new lesions elsewhere, thx to 1-pill-a-day osimertinib, the standard of care for my kind of cancer. ❤️to all.

Giving thanks to my doctors at
@InovaSchar
. Last yr on this date I’d just been diagnosed w stage 4 lung cancer. Now, thanks to 1-pill a day targeted therapy, robotic lobectomy, warm thoughts from friends — IRL and here — I’m cancer-free. Thank you for all the love and support.
Going home today after yesterday’s

As the sun was going down today, a couple things happened -- I realized I hadn't coughed all day,

Before he was sentenced, Fields said: "I'd like to apologise for my actions and the hurt and loss I've caused. I apologize to my mother for all I've been putting her through. Every day I think about my actions. I'm sorry." He didn't apologize to Heather Heyer, or her parents..
Ready to battle lung cancer. And thank goodness for staging. Last week I learned I had adenocarcinoma in my left lung and a lymph node in the middle of my chest. A PET scan showed it in both lungs. So, Stage 4 is my starting point. Thursday I’ll begin targeted therapy — a pill I

Hi, Twitter friends. Over the past 2 months I've had a dry cough, suspicious x-rays, CAT scans. Last week, had a bronchoscopy w biopsy. It showed adenocarcinoma -- a slow-growing form of lung cancer -- that spread to a lymph node in the middle of my chest. A CT scan showed...

Obviously, this is Park Police's side of the story. I'll be checking with

reporters who were on the scene last night, to plug-in what they observed with what Park Police are telling me. Park Police will be releasing a statement later today.
The dry cough I’ve had since Sept is almost gone. It was the warning sign that led to dx of EGFR-mutated lung cancer. Predictable rash from Tagrisso? Gone! Fever-free for 3 days w COVID. Ready to make my New Year’s resolution: Learn and share, be a great patient, enjoy. ❤️to all
Obviously folks in the White House will be asked today about the President's walk across Lafayette Square to St. John's Episcopal Church. But, my Park Police source says the agency made its decision to use smoke cannisters at that moment because of what was being thrown at...
Last November I learned I had stage 4 lung cancer. After one-pill-a-day targeted therapy and lobectomy, I’m now free of cancer. November is

I know there will be ups & downs w stage 4
#lungcancer
. This is an Up! 1st PET scan since taking Tagrisso shows "very nearly complete resolution" of shiny tumor, lymph node spread. I'll see my oncologist Weds. to see if surgery/radiation is next, which helps longterm! ♥️ to all.
There’s a first time for everything! Breathing’s getting better after

surgery. Know what hurts? Yawning! But I’m walking a couple miles a day, which helps lung capacity improve.
#lcsm
First trip to my oncologist since I’ve been NED — no evidence of disease. Lobectomy incisions have healed, still taking pill-a-day targeted therapy. With Stage 4
#lungcancer
I’ll have a CT scan in a month or two. This waterfall sculpture is soothing — I’ll keep it in mind.
My

doctors were right, again. After lobectomy in April, they said I'd likely cough, but it would go away. On flight home from Orlando, I asked family: "Hey, I don't think I coughed at all on this trip, did I?" They agreed. :)
People w lung cancer are more prone to get COVID. Tested positive for 1st time, after having low fever Sun, Mon. No fever today. Have to delay targeted therapy til Mon, since I’m immunocompromised. Tylenol/advil/cough meds, rest for now. Glad I’m boosted to the max. Love to all❤️

Today is World Lung Cancer Day. Last year, I had no idea I’d be diagnosed w stage 4

. Since then I’ve taken one-pill-a-day targeted therapy, had a robot-assisted lobectomy, and am now NED — no evidence of disease :) Joining

Heather Heyer's mother Susan Bro said she feels James Fields life plus 419 year sentence will send message to other white supremacists that it's unacceptable in Charlottesville and elsewhere.
Quick update: 9 pills in, no side effects. Needing less cough medicine, feeling a bit less rundown. Labs next week to make sure I’m tolerating Rx. First CT scan in about 3 months.
My post-lobectomy cough is almost gone. Today’s my first pulmonary rehab session. Twice a week, 9 weeks. Nice to break a sweat, and give these

Bronchoscopy day! Dad and Mom are leaving now. The doc’s gonna see if any lymph nodes are enlarged in the lung opposite my shrinking

Here at my hopeful place for

. 3 months after my lobectomy, I’ll have a 15-minute local anesthesia procedure to drain a little fluid from my lung lining, which is very common after thoracic surgery. Should help w cough and getting winded w exertion.
Great story.

This is what my targeted treatment for lung cancer looks like. One pill per day (cough drop, optional). This medicine — osimertinib — targets the EGFR mutation that biomarker testing identified for my particular biopsy. No chemo, radiation, surgery planned for right now.
Today is

Everyone chill. Plenty of gas to be had. Here at this Sheetz, off 50 in Chantilly, most of the pumps are unused. If you can avoid filling up every vehicle you own today, that’ll help. We’re all good.
BTW, my hope and expectation is to WFH from a while. In radio studios, they often have a Cough Button, that the announcer can press, to quickly mute their mic for a second. I don't have one at home, but I can always re-record :)
Six years ago this morning I got leadless pacemaker. I'd fainted 5 times in 24 hours. After decades of AFib, my electrical connections were frayed. At one point my heart didn't beat for 20 seconds. Since then, all good. Thx, science.
Looking forward to starting treatment next week for my lung cancer. "I just want to keep working, because I love my job. I love being in touch with people I've made connections with, on the air, and off air, for the past 25 years."

Always feel 5 years younger after a haircut. Nice payoff after lifting my chin to reduce neck folds, and stylist saying ‘take your time’ as I walk back to chair after getting hair washed <sigh>
Living the good life, with stage 4 lung cancer. Now that one-pill-a-day targeted therapy and lobectomy have me cancer-free, CT scan every 3 months is the aggressive monitoring to stay on top of things.
The Secret Service, asked directly if it used tear gas at Lafayette Park, declined to say, one way or the other. I'm continuing to try to rule in or rule out. Will keep in touch.
