As a British Asian Dr, I feel incredibly proud to have been appointed by the Privy Council to GMC Council.
I'm looking forward to bringing my skills, perspective & expertise to

Honoured to have been presented with this medal & citation by HRH Princess Alexandra & the Royal Humane Society alongside
@Tobias_Ellwood
for our actions during tragic circumstances in Westminster.
Still humbled by the heroic actions of Londons paramedics, police & HEMS teams.
We've seen the incredible impact that wellbeing facilities, free parking, free food & drink provision can have on staff morale as well as the knock on effect on productivity. It shouldn't take a pandemic for our
#NHS
staff to feel valued.

We are clear schools should only reopen when the

Delighted that after our lobbying, the long-awaited changes to shared parental leave have gone live today via NHS Staff Council. These new rules give junior doctors more choice & flexibility on how they share and take leave to care for their children in those vital early months
Thanks to lobbying from the junior doctors committee on behalf of our members,

Humbled to get this award from paramedic colleagues last night. Easy to recall tragedy, but I remember these paramedics as giants in Westminster. Seeing staff work together, do their best for every patient in front of them regardless of circumstance, that’s our NHS.

PAs & AAs will receive 7-digit GMC reference numbers with an alphabetical prefix
This change, alongside a professional obligation for registrants to introduce themselves clearly, will help patients & colleagues identify individuals

In response to the GMC statement on the Dr Hadiza Bawa-Garba case; doctors fear reprisal due to system failings that continue to go unaddressed. We are taking these concerns directly to the GMC, reflecting the profession's anger & sense of injustice.
Junior doctors are constructive & positive. I realise in recent years things have become politicised but when involved & engaged with we want to help solve the problems we see so clearly every day. We are part of the solution & will always support positive change.

Massive. Long overdue changes to allow trainees to move regions WITHOUT needing personal circumstances, caring responsibilities etc as criteria.
Trainees are *people* & should be able to move. Good to see this reflection of humanity in the machine. Well done to those involved.

JDC have no confidence in the DDRB at present.
We are united with BMA Council in calling for reform of the DDRB process but if meaningful reform is not achievable, our belief remains; enough is enough & complete withdrawal from the DDRB is necessary
