This pandemic however places specific strain on intensive care depts, resources & staff with v.rapidly deteriorating patients.

Yesterday, I met with @gmcuk in the wake of the #BawaGarba case, where I highlighted the anger, frustration, and most importantly fear that has spread throughout the profession, due to issues brought into sharp focus by the GMC’s recent actions.

Massive. Long overdue changes to allow trainees to move regions WITHOUT needing personal circumstances, caring responsibilities etc as criteria. Trainees are *people* & should be able to move. Good to see this reflection of humanity in the machine. Well done to those involved.

Great to see these changes to the Inter-Deanery Transfer system come to fruition following @BMA_JuniorDocs and @AoMRCTrainees raising issues. You now don't need to demonstrate a change in personal circumstances to apply to move - this is a really positive step forwards.

JDC have no confidence in the DDRB at present. We are united with BMA Council in calling for reform of the DDRB process but if meaningful reform is not achievable, our belief remains; enough is enough & complete withdrawal from the DDRB is necessary

Negotiations with @nhsemployers and @DHSCgovuk to introduce a number of improvements to the 2016 junior doctor contract in England have now concluded. The deal we have agreed brings a £90 million investment for junior doctors over the next four years.

It’s official: doctors and nurses to be exempted from the Tier 2 cap. This represents a victory for the BMA, medical bodies and patients who have argued that this obstructive cap was doing real damage to patient services across the country

The @TheBMA @BMA_JuniorDocs Contract review survey is now live. Anyone that has worked on the 2016 contract is able to fill it out, whether a BMA member or not. Your views and experiences are key to us achieving real improvements for junior doctors.

I wanted to update: within 24 hours @FourteenFish had not only replied (the person that migrates the content themselves) but identified & fixed the problem, restoring all lost content. I haven’t had this kind of quick turnaround from any nhs software provider before. 🙌🏽👍🏽👏🏽 @rcgp

Logged into the new @rcgp @FourteenFish Eportfolio to find all my dops, cbd’s and cots over the last four weeks have not transferred & every learning log I’ve done in the last four years in the same review period w/o any dates. Its super shiny though so glad we pay for this 💰

. @BMA_JuniorDocs , @nhsemployers & the @DHSCgovuk have re-entered into negotiations on the 2016 Contract. Following this process, any negotiated changes will be put to BMA members and, if accepted, the dispute will be ended, and the revised contract collectively agreed.

Important update for trainees: rotation in April will cease to enable better support for trainees and patients during #COVID ー19 Some trainees in supernumary posts to be deployed to areas of greatest need. We mus ensure those involved are supported so they can care for patients.
