A-dṛṣṭa.—‘The unseen’ is a term used in the Rigveda for a species of vermin/worm (Kṛmi). In Bangla also we call Kṛmi. Well this is apt for unseen viruses too. The sun is also described as ‘the slayer of the unseen’ (adṛṣṭa-han). Thumb-rule; The Sun is good for health.

Initially Rg veda was not one book. The Suktas belonged to many priests and major part belonged to many individual families. But do any other scripture has this memory when these were compiled as Rg, Saam, Yajur... Many interesting questions and answers yet to come.

I am very sad to inform that my maternal aunt's husband Dr. Ashok Shome died of Covid 19 after a 14 day long struggle on ventilator in Kolkata. My mother is also suffering from Covid, rt now, at home with mild symptoms like diarrhea etc. I request prayers for her speedy recovery.

I am just fascinated by Tamils. I got an insight why Tamils called Agastya a Kurumuni. This is an astronomical phenomena to remember Agastya's southern course from Kurukshetra. Name bears it all, rest other stories get attached to Canopus cult during the lapse of thousands of yrs

35 kgs of wool. The wild sheep. I wonder why the wool is known to RV people and not the cotton. On record we have cotton from 8,000 yr BP, probably that is why its absent in RV. Someday I will write on this issue.

There would have been a lot of Sanskrit spoken amongst Yavana, Romaka, Paulisha, and the Suryasiddhantis. The Old Avesta is extremely similar to Sanskrit. It indicates that, like modern English, Sanskrit was a widely used language. Whose Sun was not setting then?

India's Geography is astronomy based. Why name Vindhya? The answer is, it comes from "Vidhya- to pierce"-what can pierce hypothetically. "Tropic line" for "measure", where "vidha" is used for "measure" again. Thus Vindhyottara would essentially mean land north of Tropic line.
