Dr. Thomas E. Starzl, MD, PhD, considered by most as "The Father of Modern Transplantation." Dr. Starzl was the Director of Surgery at the Denver Veterans Administration Hospital from 1962-1972 and the Chairman of the CU Department of Surgery from 1972-1980.
