The Government of Canada has increased the funding available through the Universal Broadband Fund from $1 billion, announced in the 2019 Budget, to $1.75 billion.
The $750 million in additional funding means the government will ensure 98% of Canadians are connected by 2026.
70 years ago, the Korean Armistice Agreement was signed. More than 26,000 Canadians served in the Korean War. 516 of them lost their lives. We remember those who bravely fought for peace and freedom on the Korean peninsula.

A great night for the Canadian Women’s Curling Team who won the gold at the Ford Women’s World Curling Competition. Attendance records were broken throughout the week and North Bay Ontario became ground central for Curling in Canada.

Our condolences go out to the friends and family of Alex Trebek. In May of 2015 he had visited Parliament Hill while he was in Ottawa to receive an honourary degree at uOttawa. He remains one of the most recognizable personalities to emerge from northern Ontario.
