When I was in #Ethiopia in April/May/June, there was no electricity in Kobo, Muja, Kulmesek, Lalibela, Ayna, or Sekota due to the war. A friend in Lalibela tells me there's still none, yet the TPLF complain that there's none in Tigray as though it's the only region suffering.

#Ethiopia 's PM declared a ceasefire so Tigrayans could plant because if you don't plant, you don't eat. TPLF called it a "sick joke" & kept fighting. Now @nytimes says Ethiopian & Eritrean troops "caused many farmers to miss the planting season, setting in motion a food crisis."

The decibel level of US/Western screams that Eritrea must leave Ethiopia has been rising ever since the peace agreement was signed. Their imperial displeasure with the 2018 peace between #Ethiopia and #Eritrea was a driver of this whole tragic conflict.

I've no doubt that the people of Tigray are suffering greatly because of the war, but the acknowledgment of suffering in Amhara and Afar should not be interpreted as a denial of theirs. #Ethiopia

The TPLF's only alleged justification for fighting in Amhara and Afar is to gain access for humanitarian aid trucks to Tigray, but over 1000 aid trucks have already disappeared into Tigray. Their real goal is occupying territory and expanding their borders with Western support.
