Hey! on a side note, just because your frontend developers won’t need to reverse binary trees, doesn’t mean they deserve less salary than their backend counterparts at the same level. The broad scope and dynamic nature of frontend technologies compensate if not surpass, that.

True story. I went to a conference in Bucharest. When I get there I realize I forgot to push the latest changes of my demo, and they’re locally in a computer I left home. I instructed my husband to push them, on whatsapp. 😂

I worked extremely hard to be where I am today. I was 27 almost when I switched careers, I became a mom 2 years later. I had just recently migrated to Europe. I didn’t go to study computer sciences until much later. I’m nothing special and if I could make it, you can too.

8 years ago, at the company I was working for, we had a team building event for #Frontend Developers. We went to play laser tag. We were around 30… I was the only woman…. Ironically, I was “the last man standing”.

@NehemiahKiv We copied entire folders, renamed them following a pattern and pushed them through the guts of the interwebs typically using FTP.

There is something I wanted to share all day and I don’t think there are words to express how happy and thankful I am to have a friend that built a keyboard for me, with the colors, specs, everything I dreamed. I feel so special! One of the best bday presents ever. So blessed! 🥰

one of the last thing I did in 2022 was starting the process to onboard a new service to Azure ring n it’s one of the greatest feelings to know a Microsoft’s service’ll be there cause this Uruguayan person who went to a little public school, was part of putting it there. 🥲

I work out quite a lot and I’m proud of it and sometimes I post pics flexing and then I delete them. But especially the last 6 months I was going through a low and the fact that I still dragged myself to the gym and found a new type of activity makes me want to share results.

Today somebody knew I have 2 kids. They said “I would’ve never thought! How can you be where you are in your career and be a mom?” I will not lie, it’s hard work, I’ve put myself last, I’ve had a million sleepless nights. But don’t let anyone tell you you can’t be great at both.

People don’t need to agree on all tech takes, and that should be good and not bad and grant enemies. From challenging opinions, opposition or divergence, we foster progress and evolution. It’s one of the success factors of open-source and open standards.
