Jimmy Ellis was probably one of THE greatest cruiserweights who never was. As with poor Quarry - another who, like Ellis, I would have given a VERY real shot of defeating the far weaker-comp yet far more lauded Dempsey - Jimmy was a man who simply lucked out with the wrong era.

@RickGagne394052 He was. Albeit Fury took that fight as an exhibition - Tyson is known for stinking the joint out when not in the right frame of mind. Yet agree if Ike’s timing was off - he was hardly the greatest technician - than that could prove somewhat of a leveller.

I tolerate this era of Boxing,but I’m not a huge fan of it honestly. A lot of talented fighters all across several weight classes,but they don’t fight each other. And then you have fans online who justify how the fights don’t make sense financially. Very weird era.
