Meet Reece. He made his debut for the
@WiganWarriorsRL
PDRL team at the weekend. Now look at the tweet from his mother & take it in. Everyone at the club is proud of you, I know you mentioned yesterday you’ve a lot to learn, but keep that smile on your face why doing it!
England Women will learn so much from the RLWC2021. The question will always come back to the need to be full time Professionals. I sincerely hope this will be the case going forward. By way, seen some nasty tweets about this women. I thought she was just AWESOME!!!
Apparently Josh Griffin has deleted his Twitter account due to abuse & is deeply upset by comments made by certain studio pundits. Lad gets a very serious injury, looses out on potential CCF & WC2021 selection & gets abuse. We talk about Mental Health in our game all the time!
My wife (non Rugby League fan) just said, if I’m to watch RL almost every night, I’ve got to watch something called “Bridgerton” with her. Not got a clue what this is, but figured out it can’t be any worse than watching Warrington!
 "Going to the Match" by Lowry relates to the sport of Rugby League. In 1895, 22 clubs break away from RU, enabling working class players compensated for wages. "The red flag and scarves worn by several of the crowd members, hints at the Salford Red Devils, Lowry's local team.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Never… underestimate the commitment of our volunteer coaches in Rugby League. I’m sat in the car watching a productive well drilled session with kids age 10 in heavy rain. Without the commitment of our coaches, we wouldn’t have a game!
@TheRFL
let’s jump all over this now. Our game has Mega-Star fans, so let’s get Rugby League to the highest of heights, which it rightly deserves to be at and accept nothing less than the very top! PLEASE retweet everyone.
#RugbyLeague
Always say me, I’m a Rugby League fan first and foremost. I’m Wigan through and through, but I’ll say this. The standard Saints play at, is the standard we need for SL here in the UK. They leave you wanting to see more!
These lads represent what our game is and should be. It’s littered with what to most, are superhuman athletes. It’s our game and it’s the best game in the world. I don’t give a dam what anyone says, nothing comes close to Rugby League!!!!!
No matter who you support, everyone here should get behind Saints this weekend over in Australia. They are representing English Rugby League/Super League. I personally wish them all the best. I hope they give it to them! 👍🏼💪🏼🏉
To also add, and regardless of some comments I have been reading. There will be nobody… hurting more than this guy. Full respect from me to everyone involved, players and staff.
11 years today we lost not only a great Rugby League player, but someone who I am privileged to have known & played with at some stage. I’ll never forget when he signed for Wigan, we took it in turn driving to training everyday & hung out with each after. He was one of the best!
Shocked to read this morning about the very sad news of the death of Ricky Bibey. I played with him briefly in the reserves at Wigan, a real character. RIP Ricky!
Having a chat with Billy Boston this evening. I could speak to him all night and listen to the stories he tells about his upbringing and the game, just awesome!
The new deal with
@Channel4
for
@SuperLeague
and the game in general, is in my opinion massive. To offer the game to a much wider audience, without the obvious normal subscription fee, should and I am sure will, bring attention and participation levels up substantially!
Every time I watch games like this on TV, I wonder ……HOW…are we not backed by all of the biggest sponsors. They should be queuing up in their droves. Twists and turns, full blown physical-athletic commitment & entertainment. It’s exhilarating & exciting. Absolutely everything!
Sat here watching
#SirKev
on breakfast news. Who else just wants to run-walk or crawl alongside of him???? This is what inspiring others is all about and at the same time raising money and awareness for
@mndassoc
. I speak for everyone I am sure, in saying you are amazing mate!👏🏼
Rugby League runs through my blood and before anyone jumps down my throat, I am fully aware that this is a different code. But I think we need to do far…..far….. more to market our brand/game. We simply cannot continue to accept average!
12 months ago today I posted this photo/quote. It got quite the reaction and attention, something the game rightly deserves. 2022 is huge for
#RugbyLeague
, get behind the game and let’s set the world on fire! 👍🏼🏉🌎🎇🔥🎆👌🏼

Spent some time working in schools in Leigh recently. I can’t tell you how brilliant it is to see all the kids constantly talking about Rugby League. The town really is RL mad, long may that continue!
As a child I admired and respected many players, with Mike Gregory up at the top of my list, a true legend of Rugby League. Today would have been his 60th birthday. Gone but never forgotten!!!
Just been informed about the very sad news of the passing of a Rugby League Legend today, Bill Ashurst. My sincere condolences go out to his friends and family at this time.
Best player I have ever seen strike a ball. Had the privilege as a player apprentice at the club at the time, of him asking me regularly to stand in the old Boston stand at Central Park while he practiced booting the 🏉 over and me booting them back to him. He hardly ever missed!
A boy who dreamed of playing for Cardiff & Wales, yet no interest was shown, even though everyone knew his name. A 3K offer on a table eventually sealed a deal to bring one the greatest Rugby League Legends to Wigan, still-to-date his adopted home.
Happy Birthday Billy Boston!
No matter how bad, I’ll say this about what I’ve just witnessed post-match with the Hull Chairman. Lee R deserved more respect than to sack him immediately after. We talk about mental health & looking after players/staff, there’s a way to do things, that’s not it (my opinion).
9wks today had surgery on a ruptured patellar tendon. Was told the MRI showed it was “a total mess”. I’ve had stitches open/infection in the wound. Yet, I did the ultimate test today, a straight leg raise. Don’t ever take your physical health for granted!
The way this guy run was mesmerising. I watched him week in week out as a kid and I have never… ever… seen anyone since, who can touch his magical class. I have said it before and I will say it again, in my opinion, he his the best player our game has ever produced!
By the way, those of you having a crack at this lad, have a word with yourselves. He’s been nothing but outstanding since making his debut. Everyone can’t be on their A game all of the time!
Fuifui Moimoi, age 41. Today, I watched him make countless tackles, 4 in one set of 6. Took the ball up like he was an 18 year old trying to impress. Cut his head, left the field for stitches & within 5 mins bobbing up and down on the sidelines to get back on. A true athlete!
Sad news about the passing of one of
@LeighCenturions
past players Andy Collier, due to this horrible virus! My thoughts at this sad time go out to his loved ones.
Flicking through my photos & this came up. There are images that drag you in like a magnet & this does it to me every time. It encapsulates how sport brings people together & if your lucky like these gents to play as they did for such a period of time, become brothers in arms!
➡️ “Danny McGuire has pleaded with the sport to not abandon reserve & academy grade rugby beyond the end of the season”. My view is simple, to produce elite level athletes you need a robust/progressive system in situ. Without it, talent will be lost & the game will be weakened!
My little man is going through that stage of looking up old Rugby League videos. The good the bad and the ugly. Just walked in and he was watching this!
Just been reading about youth rugby & kids being affected/frozen out by poor coaching, using more physically adapt kids to “Win” rather than developing each player’s skill-set & concentrating on fun/enjoyment, fairness. A massive cause of player drop out! Your thoughts???
On dialysis from eight weeks old
Kidney Transplant at three years old
Tube fed until 11 years old
Brain surgery in 2020
And many more challenges...
🏉 Despite all of that, Reece made his PDRL debut for
@WiganWarriorsRL
on Saturday!
♥️ A true inspiration,

When I went to St Helens Royal Theatre on Christmas Eve, on the way out we drove past the Steve Prescott Bridge all lit up. Not being from the town, I explained to my children what it was and what a special man he was. Happy Heavenly Birthday

Just back from watching my son play U10’s & he was reffed by someone who refereed me when I was a kid, Peter Meadows
@merryflagwaver
. Now that’s dedication to the cause! To add, he was doing numerous games today, not just one. Don’t get the credit they deserve in my opinion!👍🏼👏🏼
Featherstone have done fantastically well, but the best team have won. Just think what this does for our game, that’s 2 🇫🇷 team’s in SL, it’s massive on many…many levels, it really is!!!!!!!!!
Just want to send out my Congratulations to James Roby ahead of making his 500th appearance this evening for
@Saints1890
. No matter who you support, this guy deserves a massive amount of acknowledgment and applause for such an outstanding achievement! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Any kids watching, look at Tompkins here take down one of the giants of the game size wise, in Walmsley. Bigger they are harder they fall they say. Technique combined with experience over size and power!
Look at this photo & pay attention in particular to the fans in the background. Don’t know about you, but the close proximity of the fans & the kids (me included) sat on the wall, made for such a special time for thousands. Them memories will be forever etched on my mind! 🏉🍒⚪️
If there is one thing I can ask you to do, it is to PLEASE… LIKE and RETWEET this video. You will help raise vital funds for cancer research

Just took my son to his first ever Rugby League training session for his new club, he’s just turned 10 and is absolutely buzzing. I’ve just also come home to watch the game and catch up on the Ralph Rimmer interview with Tez & Brian C. I’m once again totally & utterly gobsmacked!
“It’s a new game for India but it has made a rocking start, & on January 30, it made it to Bangalore. The game of Rugby League is often nicknamed the “people’s game” & the fledgling Rugby League India Federation has plans to make it one of India’s games”.
What a last 4 days I’ve had. Damaged my knee a good few weeks back & foolishly not wanting to let anyone down including myself, I decided to soldier on. Thursday I succumbed to the fact I need to go the hospital. Complete tear of the Patella tendon & my knee ligaments!
