Tonight, our 8th graders were getting beat by 35 points. The opposing coach calls THREE freaking full-time outs in the last 90 seconds to run set plays. I was not happy. Not. At. All. It's middle school basketball, not the national championship.

I get some of the "CC is awful" takes. She's chirping at refs, and other players, and is as passionate a player as I've seen for a while. My thing: Did you mind when Jordan did it? Or Kobe? Did you mind when they started jawing w/ people? Or looked to pump the crowd? I doubt it.

Was doing some stat digs on the flight. This one is pretty obvious but notable: Iowa is 31-9 (!) in its last 40 football games (late 2017-present). Only losses in those 40 games have come by margins of 11, 6, 4, 2, 7, 5, 2, 4 and 1. (And in the 11, Iowa led WIS w/ 1:00 to go.)

Got into an awesome health group during @TylerKluver fitness challenge and I've not felt this strong in a LONG time. All health metrics are looking great, but best of all, I FEEL good. It's been a month and a half and I've missed a workout, which feels outstanding!

I'll admit, I coach 8th-grade girls in rural Iowa. We are white girls who don't get a whole lot of run and gun, popping threes, or anything else. It's teaching basketball and I love it. One thing I teach my girls early on: lose with class, win like you've done it before.

@TylerKluver Like you've said about 1,000 times this year, they just don't give up on each other. All three aspects of the game keep competing. The special teams and defense know they've got things covered and we are seeing an offense getting their legs, which takes some pressure off.

Well, we'd planned on coming down to Iowa City tomorrow until we saw the latest snow forecast. We got home, threw stuff in bags and will wake up to snow rather than driving through it. We were NOT missing tomorrow's @IowaWBB game!

This is a golden era of Hawkeye Athletics! While I wish things were a little (or a lot) different, it's an amazing time! Seeing other programs falter because of coaching changes, corruption, or just plain incompetent, it's great to see Iowa rise above! Go Hawkeyes! ❤️
