UNBELIEVABLE: Remember Diamond, the cat that survived the #Montecito mudslide and was found 475 days later? Another neighbor saw Diamond’s story on the news and realized she had the Strogoff’s other missing cat Huguette, who is now home 508 days after the mudslide.

At 3:49, SBC rec’d reports of a medical 30 feet down cliff above Hope Ranch Beach. Multi agency response with UTV’s, Drone, Engines and Truck. Ended up being a mannequin from movie shoot days earlier. Passerby’s on the beach noticed and called. Better to call than not!

This story has brought me joy. Nathan Apodaca’s car broke down. So he rode his skateboard, while drinking cranberry juice and singing “Dreams” by Fleetwood Mac. He raised money to buy a new car, brought the song back into the spotlight and inspired others to recreate his video.

After the #Montecitomudslide , a barefoot firefighter waded across Olive Mill Road to a family whose home was inundated with mud. The homeowner gave him a pair of shoes. Then, he left to rescue people. 5 months later, the firefighter returned the shoes, and this note.

WOW: Patches went missing during the #Montecito #mudslide three years ago. The cat’s owner, Josie, died in the tragedy. Patches was found last month and reunited with her owner’s partner Norm thanks to its microchip. This is the happy reunion. 📷 ASAP cat shelter

I interviewed Juana Maria Flores in Spanish about her impending deportation from Goleta to Mexico tomorrow. She’s been in the country for 30+ years, and has 10 children and 15 grandchildren. Her son is in the U.S. Air Force. Our story airs tonight as she says her last goodbye.
