My recent asylum cases include a woman at risk of 'honour' killing from Albania, gay man from Russia, gay man from Malaysia with severe learning difficulties. All suffering from trauma. All won on appeal. No way any of them would have survived being sent to Rwanda.

The Home Office nearly always ask LGB refugees 'how did your behaviour change when you found out you were LGB'. I do not understand what that question means and neither do my clients. One male client said, having been asked that weird question, that he became more 'girly'. 1/2

At the dentist today and obviously told her I’m on chemo. When she was drilling away she told me a story about a family friend who died from cancer aged 39. She then asked do I have kids and when I said no she said ‘that’s good’. You do just have to laugh. @ThanksCancer

This wonderful woman, my Mum, died on Saturday morning. She was truly one in a billion. Honest to a fault, hilarious, and with the biggest heart. She loved her family, her husband Joe and us, and her own Mum and Dad and siblings. And she was loved, deeply, by all of us.

@ukhomeoffice doesn’t believe my client is gay as it’s not credible someone with severe learning difficulties would be sexually active. A new low.

Extremely sad day for the UK, including its democracy and its place in the world. Sunak and his cronies are clinging onto power on the back of the world's most vulnerable people.

I’ve noticed a lot of cyclists are wearing masks around the city in this hot weather. I think we should ban them because it my RIGHT to see their faces and they could easily decide to rob a bank. And they look ridiculous which offends ME so they shouldn’t wear them.

Hotel receptionists: When two men or two women check in to a room with a double bed, no need to check we didn’t accidentally book the double bed. We’re grown ups and we know how to book a hotel room. Many thanks.

Last planned chemotherapy today. It’s a massive milestone but anxiety levels through the roof. Apparently this is not uncommon towards the end of chemo. Anyone had a similar experience? I’m hoping once it’s done they will subside.

I have no clue how to organise, but is anyone up for a protest outside the Home Office this week to demand a meaningful resettlement programme is set up for Afghans?

Wondering if Braverman would get any work if she came back to the Bar. I don’t recall a barrister- turned-politician being so universally disliked by lawyers.

Every single immigration and human rights lawyer is hearing the news this morning with a reluctant but resigned resolution to keep the UK within international refugee and human rights law.
