APD officers are on the scene of a carjacking that occurred in the 4500 block of Strutfield Ln. An armed suspect stole a Toyota sedan. No injuries reported. This is an ongoing investigation.

Hooff’s Run Drive Death Investigation Update:
The alleged shooter in the incident that occurred this afternoon on Hooff’s Run Drive has succumbed to his injury. Anyone with information is asked to contact APD Detective Whelan at 703-746-6228.
Update 8:24 p.m. The investigation into the shooting that occurred today on Hooff's Run Drive has turned into a death investigation. Please see the attached news release. Anyone with information is asked to call the APD non-emergency line at 703-746-4444.
Update: Two people have been transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries in the shooting that occurred on Hooffs Run Drive. There is no threat to the public concerning this incident. Hooffs Run has reopened to through traffic.
There is a significant police presence in the 300 block of Hoffs Run Drive at Eisenhower Ave. in response to a shooting investigation.

Earlier today, our recruits partnered with ALIVE! to package groceries for 100+ families. These recruits, who begin academy next month, participate in community events before training. This helps them understand the importance of community connection in law enforcement.
