Ok I'll say it. It's something I rarely do. Anyone who believes NIL and non restrictive transfers is good for high school football is only thinking about how they can benefit from it. And I'm not talking about the kids or coaches. It sure has worked well at the college level.

We added 609 more All-State players to our files today. In total we have documented 30,172 different football players who have made an All-State Team since the Birmingham News first selected a team back in 1921. Congratulations to all the named players for 2023.

Don't ever give up! Did you know the 1986 Gadsden Tigers started the football season 1-5 before reeling off 8 straight victories to win the Class 5A state championship over Homewood 13-7? Their biggest margin of victory all season was 11 points.

The Luverne Tigers have qualified for the playoffs every year since 1982. That's forty years in a row. The Tigers won championships in 1991 & 1997. That streak may continue for a while too.
