Some teachers said goodbyes to their female students as everyone was evacuated from Kabul University this morning... and we might not see our graduation like thousands of students around the country.
Taliban are placed all over the city, just waiting for the right time...
Leaving home was never easy
and shouldn’t have been
but wherever I end up
I’ll bring my home in my heart
Heading unto the unknown I’ll carry my Afghanistan💔
Taliban asked civil servants in Kabul to get back to their offices, but when everyone showed up, they dismissed female workers- justifying it as unconducive security situation for women
One month on since Taliban takeover:
- All male cabinet has been formed
- All male civil servants are back
- All male students are back
It’s ALL MALE Afghanistan now
That’s their whole deal.
They repeated the same thing for five years during their regime in 1990s and the security situation remained a justification for erasing women from society.
What could be different this time?

Woke up to shoutings and gunfires in our doorstep. so called Mujahideen (thieves) went home by home and took away people’s cars and belongings.
As they heard Taliban are on their to our area, they ran away.
The chaos just began...

Armed Taliban once again invaded our house.
They once again whipped and beaten up people on the streets.
No they have not changed!

It was wonderful exchanging ideas with a group of young activists (Image of humanity team) and visiting the ancient Herat Citadel today.
Herat is beautiful ❤️
Whenever we raise our voices and ask for our inclusion in the peace process our leaders relentlessly reply “peace is not a game for kids you better study and stay at school” but they don’t realize that we value education above anything yet we don’t see peace as a political issue,

I was honored to be a keynote speaker at the Afghan Diaspora Conference for joining efforts to support Civil Society in Afghanistan.
I thank
@GermanyDiplo
for organizing this timely event and for standing by Afghan people in their difficult time.
Glad to receive a letter from Mr. Tadamichi Yamamoto on the occasion of his farewell, that reached me late due to the logistical challenges created by COVID-19.
I appreciate and thank him for all the support, insights, and help he has provided me during my representation.
Whatever 2020 may bring, we need to stand and believe in our shared humanity and our common goals.
We are the powerful authors of the change we seek.
Our story can still be written
and there's hope yet.

Dear world:
Does your heart not ache?
Does your blood not move?
To see the displaced
To see the agonizing pain

How do you react to the number of people being killed and displaced in Afghanistan without feeling at least some level of panic?

On the eve of the anniversary of 9/11 attacks, Afghans are going to start the long overdue intra-Afghan negotiations.
Weather it will be dusk or dawn, the negotiations will determine, but
Today with every living cell in our broken bodies we hope for success

Afghan women are no longer silent. They are a force for progress.
I want the women of my country to know that they are equal to men in the eyes of religion, civil laws, and humanity.

for being an amazing Ambassador of Afghanistan & a great representative of the youth.
It was a pleasure to moderate a full day working session on “reconstituting formal education in Afghanistan” organized by

Here is my assessment of the entire discourse on Afghan girls’ education at the
@DohaForum

How do you respond to the fact that basically nothing is being done about this without feeling the slightest bit of anger?
We are not just restless headlines
On your digital screens
We are real people
and when one of us bleed
We all bleed.
Some of the students are still trapped in law faculty, my professor burst into tears and told me:
“I’m powerless in helping them, my students are dying”
My home,
my University is under attack💔
What changed in Afghanistan?
March: Ban on access to secondary school for girls
May: forcing women to veil their faces
September: Women’s affairs ministry was disbanded
last month women were barred from gyms, & parks.
Today: ban on access to higher education for women
We had a very productive discussion at Kabul university around a number of issues that are of concern to all of us.
Participants addressed their concerns and shared their messages during a round table discussion.
We hope to move forward and include more youth in the process.
Last year I was honored to represent Afghan youth in the center of world politics & modern international law creation🇺🇳
Being a Youth delegate to UN has been the highlight of my experience as youth activist thus far

All parties to the conflict in particular Taliban need to realize that this is an unwinnable and zero sum game and the minute they realize that a military solution is out of question they will find us ready to reciprocate
This is a sad news!
Compromising future of thousands of students currently enrolled
@AUAfghanistan
is an irresponsible act.
What happens to the dreams of million of our youth can either enrich or impoverish our country.
Going back is not an option for us!

I was inspired by my Kandahari sisters, they’re strong, articulate and insightful but we are nowhere near gender equality in Kandahar. Women in Kandahar need opportunities to unleash their full potential and exercise their rights to shape a future that they so richly deserve.
In Kandahar, we talked about the role of women in shaping the future of 🇦🇫. Conclusions:
🙋🏽♀️Women have social, political & economic opportunities under a democratic Afghanistan

Our country is literally on the brink of division.
Shame on our authorities for triggering our country into a civil war and jeopardizing the nascent peace process.
You failed this generation!
While visiting an orphanage today, I've asked a little girl " what do you want to become in the future?" She started crying and told me " I haven't thought about my future, I just don't wanna work today" while she was crying all other children started crying... My heart shattered

So now we are fighting over “who stood & who flinched while rockets were shot during Eid prayer today?
Everybody’s offended by reactions but nobody’s offended by the rockets being shot in Kabul-by people being abducted & killed around the country
What’s happening?
