I don’t think you guys understand the severity of the GTA6 leak. 10 thousand lines of code, proprietary and secret craftsmanship now floating into the ether. Rockstar has all ability outright cancel the fucking game over this. 85% chance they’ll delay the game into next decade.
My hearts out to Rockstar devs, programmers and engineers. Actually anyone who had any ounce of input in on the code. Our source code for Legion got leaked at Ubi so I know the repercussions and devastating feeling that follows. 💖
Okay y’all I’ve come back to this tweet after muting and it’s insane.
First, 10k lines of code was when I saw it. The story developed further and it got worse. Second, 85% is a hyperbole. Dumb I know, I’ll take the flack though. Third, they may can and reboot. Always an option.
I see a TON of people asking WHY SOURCE CODE MATTERS. Here are some repercussions that are very serious for something arguable so “benign”. Read this and you’ll learn how deep the rabbit hole goes. I know it’s way too late since the tweet already blew up but still great info!!
@JohnnyGaming9
They’d probably go in and access leaked code. Seeing what was leaked and patching it with new proprietary code. Also with the amount of footage leaked, it could be scrapped and restarted. If ingredients of Pepsi got out, they’d have to go find a new ingredient that’s similar.
I had to redo the tweet thread because the twitter edit button isn’t live. Wanted to tidy some things up. Anyway, nothing to promote. I understand why a bunch of people see this has a bad take, I’m not deleting the tweet but feel free to keep the jokes rolling. They’re funny!

and the Great Circle is an all-new adventure game that features a mix of combat, stealth, puzzles, gunplay, and of course...Indy's whip! Use it for traversal, as a distraction, or taking out enemies.
You aren't just playing as Indiana Jones, you ARE Indiana Jones.

@Halo
. We can wait. Sorry for all the negative comments online. We are just frustrated, that’s all. Good luck and see you guys out on the battlefield. 👋🏼
It’s either this or ‘the glow’ and I promise you when us game developers see the play tests, people skip over environmentally realistic props. Unless you guys want a button prompt to “look at lootables” every time you enter a room, learn to live with the yellow marks!
I don’t think anyone mocked anyone. I think the fans turned it into something that it wasn’t. All three comments had less than 140 characters and were fair criticisms. This got blown up for no reason and I think it is weird.
Hello everyone! My name is Dai (Dye), a self-taught indie dev that turned AAA. Previously was doing Level Design at Ubi and now I’m doing some cool NDA work! I’ve been in the industry 7 years now and went from being a Theoretical Physics major at UC Berk to

hyperbolic? It’s not unfinished. I’m sure the game will launch in a fine state that will be able to be played start to finish without major bugs. Consumers don’t get to dictate what’s on developer priority lists let alone the actual state of the game. 30fps is not ‘unfinished’.
Problem a) Redfall will de facto launch in an unfinished state.
The 60 FPS mode is officially announced, the studio clearly had the intention to have both modes available on day one, even suggested by using the terms "Quality/Performance" modes and Xbox Store feature listings.
You can test the game in certain areas to a broader audience on a controlled platform (low spec/more abundant X1s) without actually releasing the game for it. Flighting on low spec PCs could lead to more leaks/data mining which is not desired.
I’m upset as much as you guys are with the state of Halo Infinite. At the end of the day, the devs are humans and should be treated with kindness. I’m a developer myself, so my tweet is not here to do anything but stand alongside them. Good luck 343! I am rooting for ya’ll.
A new Job Listing from Bungie confirms they are working on a 3rd-Person Action Game
"You will be the tip of the spear to define the vision and features for a new 3rd-person action game at Bungie"
Excited to see the studio try a genre other than FPS
I start my big promotion as a project manager tomorrow. Signed those fancy NDAs and non-competes per usual. Modeling myself after the lead I needed when I was younger and trying my hardest in making sure the minorities in the workplace get the same respect as everyone else.😁💚🖤
“Graphics should be better here!”
Proceeds to show gameplay of a mecha flying through the air, camera moving at max speeds engaging in both melee and projectile combat with dozens of particle effects going off every second while in different weathered environments. Sure Jan.
If you are using the layoffs to push your console war agenda, you’re a dickhead. There are people’s careers and lives at stake and you’re worried about upholding a brand’s image ???
@RobertAnim8er
Honestly looks shippable to me!! Slap it under “art style” and let people ✨imagine✨ the other half as an interactive art house game.
Jokes aside, you’re the best of us. May I have as much talent one day in my body as you possess in your pinky.
I would give an entire GDC talk on networking basics, models, distributed systems & more, all with a historical context spanning multiple decades — all for nothing bc this is an misinformed opinion + one that lacks the two brain cells it takes to listen to subject matter experts.
Anytime I hear people say "game development is harder nowadays" it usually feels like a deflection of criticism and an affirmation that I should always expect less as time goes on.
They didn't seem to have any problems making a scoreboard or functional custom games in 2004
Matt Booty implying that Bethesda hasn’t crunched in a decades time then saying “it’s fine everyone else is doing it too” to the report of Fallout 76’s abysmal work culture a few years back being tone-deaf makes the recent comments about AI potentially replacing QA very on brand.
What the actual fuck? My GTA tweet.. ?? I took a nap and then here I am introduced to weird dms and threats.?? It’s never that serious. It was some dumb tweet that was supposed to be for like 10 people and now there’s all this extra weirdness.
I have no idea what’s going on.
This was a mental title card. The reflection in the water, the imagery and the drone shots to convey a nasty spirit traveling in our reality. All of it was glorious.
@krazyflipz
@Only1Brooks
Genuinely no clue but probably my ballpark from what I’m seeing, 2026 target. Bump into 2 year delay with this leak and we are seeing end of decade almost.
My only gripe about this game is I had a hard time navigating with the map. Probably a skill issue but other than that, I found the game to be enthralling from a narrative, atmospheric and design aspect. 9.5/10. This was a game I enjoyed and I thought was a shining star in AAA.
I once witnessed employees sleeping in their car for three days without showers because it snowed and work refused to let anyone go home during crunch.
Strict gave me some (early) presents for my birthday on the 21st. There’s an elgato 4K/60 on the table too. Thanks a ton
@stlcty03
. Always humble, always real.
I do this every other month but if y’all are pro-crunch then y’all are also pro-burnout, pro-revolving door, pro-mental breakdown, pro-workplace abuse and many other things. Sadly the same lot of y’all that are pro all that, aren’t pro-343. Guess it only applies to “good games”.
I think a cool thing about this sequence non-acting related is that it starts off with a single string instrument when there’s one student present and Oppenheimer is speaking (mostly) to himself then a suite of strings appear when it’s a crowd of students.
The Last of Us Part II. Breathing cycles, rope physics, unique animations for situations/stances with minute variances and the layers and layers of audio work is truly a work of art. Stunning!
I WANNA DO A BACKFLIP OFF A DUNKIN DONUTS BECAUSE I JUST REALIZED I ATTACHED A COVER LETTER WITH THE WRONG COMPANY NAME ON IT TO ANOTHER COMPANY.
Anyway. See y’all on the 5 o’clock news!
There are reasons for it. A few are for loading, connecting two areas with different themes/designs and narrative structure. While it sounds outdated or “a generational issue” I think people talk about it without understanding purpose+intent. Let’s talk about the squeeze through.
Shimmering alongside walls, preset climbing, invisible walls, moving through cracks or slowing down the player in a force slow walk are all outdated design in AAA games that western devs been doing for 20 years. There needs to be demand to change this but no one keeps same energy
@DL_GameArt
I believe it was data security and other teams attached to that side of the company since it was mostly for the anti-piracy issues that arose due to the ransom. Apologize if it sounded like all the studios working on it all got axed. 😅
@BrokenGamezHDR_
To be fair, no matter how he acts as one of the industry’s auteurs (which is a totally different issue) you cannot deny how much tech he crams into his games. He’s basically James Cameron (both good and bad). MGS2 had high fidelity breaking glass you can shoot. Unheard of for ‘01
This is the exact mentality Rockstar and Take 2 are trying to prevent. This mentality puts so many people’s livelihoods at risk and it’ll cause irreparable brand damage. The immediate dangers of source code floating around.
@AgentDeli
@detroitotaku
No way! This might be good in a way for us though because other devs can take their source code and replicate it so that we get other gta-like games without waiting 10 years
A lot of people suddenly knowing how much bungie should cost. Interesting how many people on Twitter are scientists, a comedian, a doctor, a business analyst AND a game developer.
Everything looks fine in the city from assets and environmental work. Whoever working on the game needs to light this level though. Point lights on the walls are cash money for cheap dupes but I know damn well the Luminous Engine has a very powerful dynamic lighting component..
Bro these environments in Forspoken literally look like unfinished assets with flat ass textures lmao and this NPC visual and animation look like a late 360/ps3 game. The combat may turn out to be good but the world STILL lookin RUFF.

First episode of my podcast where I interview game developers, Industry Insider, airs tonight! Time will be revealed soon. Super nervous! Also, yes I did delete the first tweet, I misspelled a few words.
Today I witnessed someone try to explain and outline the logistics of implementing something in Unreal Engine to an Unreal Engine engineer. What an absolute pleasure seeing him get dismantled in real time. Wow what a day.
About 40 minutes into the intro of The Callisto Protocol. I find the game to be wickedly linear to the point where I feel like there are actual rails beneath my feet. The corridors are dark, atmospheric but lack the tension so far due to poor sign postage and clear affordances.
I took a detour in Forbidden West on foot, that led to a side mission, that led to a three part environmental puzzle. That was roughly 45 minutes of play and I’m only on the second mission. Oh man I’m never going to finish this game.
I’ve been emailing the US Govt for over two years now for a workplace discrimination/harassment case and today I’ve received word that it’s come to an end. Every paper trail I’ve submitted has been finalized and has officially been approved. I won. This is a 10 ton weight off me.
Nothing quite lights up my soul like 90s Stephen Chow. Growing up he was my go to comedic actor. His filmography in the 90s was untouchable in my eyes.
