And this makes sense, because beginning in that period Italian republics dominated Mediterranean trade, inc. with Muslim countries.

The alternative to global trade is no one buying goods from poorer countries, and people there going out of work and starving.

While in a market economy there are no shortages because the price goes up and the people who most want broccoli can have it.

@gaslightyourmom How is this American? This claim is like a century old from Catalan nationalists. Hoteps are just the African American version of a global nationalist phenomenon, no different to early 20th century Hungarians claiming the Sumerians were Magyars.
