Q: “Have you ever thought about increasing your speed to be among the world’s fastest bowlers like Lockie Ferguson & Umran Malik?” A: “I never thought about being that fast. My view is that speed alone doesn’t achieve anything if you don’t have line/length/swing.” Headlines:

28 seconds to perfectly highlight opposite mindsets. SL: We were 67/5 (10) but we wanted to be positive & keep attacking. The moment we go on the back foot, that’s our downfall. PAK: We lost our 2 main players early on so we looked to take the game deep.

Haider Ali won't need your support once he's an established international cricketer. He needs your support now when he's navigating his way, trying to truly understand his game, and develop as a 21-year-old batsman in a country that rarely produces or develops batsmen.

Short thread: Looking at the CS comments today, it looks likely that Rizwan will be benched for Sarfaraz. If so, it’ll be Sarfaraz’s 50th Test and 1st at home, a great achievement for one of Pakistan’s finest. But should Pakistan go down that route, it’ll be very short-sighted.

Batting is a tough gig. Once you're out, you don't have another chance. You need to be a perfectionist, which is why batsmen develop and reach their peaks at a later age. When you have the drive to be a batsman that excels in all three formats, it's even tougher.

Both Sarfaraz and Rizwan became Test regulars at around 27, which was ideal. On the other hand, this would be a very short-term move, particularly when the next WTC starts with tours of SL and AUS. Rizwan is the only WK in the country who can bat in the top 6 in most conditions.

It would’ve made more sense had there been a younger keeper around the squad, giving him some game time to get some experience with this WTC gone. But at this point I think it would be wiser to let Rizwan play and try to come out of the rut he’s in.

@ahmersatti90 @Usama7 You can tell by the bowler’s grip, plus you can use slow-mo to see what the ball did after pitching even if it was full-pitched. The two balls that Misbah hit for six pitched in the line of the stumps and straightened. Compare that with the googly to Sammy which went down leg.

Those who have closely observed Haider’s fielding will notice he's improved a lot recently. Still plenty of room for further betterment. Rather than the catching, his throwing might need some work. Rizwan often gets frustrated with his returns from the boundary.

There's also a lesson to be learnt for me and for everyone else, always trust the actual source. And don't trust blue ticks which are bought by $8 anyway. If you can't be verified on Twitter by virtue of our work, your Twitter Blue subscription won't make you authentic. Peace!

Why Shadab is in PAK Team ? Rashid has played only 3 extra games but he is 42 wickets ahead then Shadab, Hasaranga has played 26 less matches then Shadab but he is only 10 wickets short. آخر کس پرفارمنس پر؟؟؟؟

There’s nothing wrong in identifying a player for a particular role if there’s consensus that he can fulfill its requirements. But you have to lay some sort of groundwork for success. You don’t turn up for an exam without preparation just because you know the subject.

Against India, he came in at #5 with three batters to come after him. Fine, he tried to hit out and perform the low-value wicket role. He has experience doing that.

If you’re expecting elite middle-order batsmanship then the least you can do is let the player gain elite experience in that position so that he has exposure to a variety of situations and circumstances. There’s no substitute for that. 6 games spread across 3 years is nothing.

Just look at the numbers and this is what he does. 70 SR is his Test SR. He’s striking at 85 vs spin and ~50 vs pace, in line with his career numbers. Elite at going after spin in this format for a reason.

Then against Zimbabwe, you realize you want six bowling options so you play Shadab and Nawaz in the top 7 for the first time ever, essentially expecting the output of regular batsmen from both.

The incident with @McLovinstatto wasn’t the only one from yesterday. A few others also noticed how @KhayamSays tweeted something, and the same idea was rehashed within 5 minutes.

We may have made a mistake but we owned up to it and corrected it. Unlike a certain someone who spent months stealing others’ hard work and then pretended as though nothing happened.

Was very disappointed with what happened on the timeline yesterday but this wasn’t the first time. And it may not be the last. So I think it’s best if a few things are put out into the open.

Yes, he has batting experience with Islamabad United but that’s a totally different role. He bats at #3 or #4 and tries to take the attack to the opposition from the top. He has almost always had the likes of Asif and Faheem to follow (now also Azam). He isn’t the finisher.
