Today we said a very sad farewel to the beautiful Jubilee. After some health issues over the last year we have made the difficult decision to retire him from police work, so he can enjoy a quieter life. He was one in a million and will be truly missed 💙 🐴

This evening officers have been targeted with further violence, some of which was directed towards our horses. Thankfully none of them were injured. Yet again our boys did a tremendous job and have come away unfazed & are happily eating hay 💙

Today Rocky & his rider were hit by a car whilst on patrol with PH Platinum in Bristol. He sustained serious injuries and is being treated in an equine hospital. His rider suffered minor injuries but neither PH Platinum or his rider were injured. We will keep you up to date 💔

Unfortunately we have some really sad news. Due to arthritis in his spine our beloved PH Brunel was put to sleep today on advice of our vets. He was an amazing Police horse who always looked after his rider. Thank you for your service Bru - we are all sadder without you here. 🐴

Today we visited Rocky in hospital and it’s fair to say he and his rider were pleased to see each other 😊 Our vets have advised that it will be around a month before we have an update on his prognosis however he is in good spirits and has got over the first hurdle 🙏

1/2 We were utterly devastated to hear from our vets that Wessex’s leg had deteriorated and he would not recover to become sound & pain free. We can not & will not allow our fantastic horses to suffer so sadly the decision was made to put him to sleep over the Christmas period.🐴

We have some very upsetting news. Today Wellington crossed the rainbow bridge after a long term battle with arthritis. We, in consultation with our vet tried many treatments but alas, he deteriorated very quickly. We are all heartbroken. Run free dear Wellington #ledgend

Yesterday Jubilee’s rider PC Livingstone went to check on how he was settling, in his new home. The pictures say it all. He spent 8 years with us, met the queen twice, attended the Olympics, taught many of us how to ride & was the bravest horse. Enjoy retirement Jubilee 😘💙

We were honoured and privileged to send PH Platinum and PH Somerset to represent Avon and Somerset at the funeral of her Majesty the Queen at Windsor this weekend, the boys were foot perfect and did us proud.

Many of you have been asking about Laddy. We can report that he has transferred to the Met to become a school horse, teaching new recruits! He was finding life on the beat a little stressful, this is a perfect job for him and the Met love him as much as we do! #horsesforcourses

Everyone meet Allan 🐴 Allan is an 8 year old Thoroughbred x Selle Francais gelding - he’s come locally from Tracey and Emily who have always thought he would make a super Police Horse - it’s early days but so far so good, he’s feeling very much at home and made friends 🐴🐴🐴
