Mbappe was pen. shootouts (where he converted excellently) away from winning 2 B2B World Cups, as the best player in one (22) and at least top 3 in the other. Don't know about you, but I don't let pen. SOs affect my conclusions. GOAT-tier-bound, and the new king of football.

Literally nothing could've shown the extent of favoritism towards Messi's as much as this, I doubt anything could come remotely close. Whether said favoritism is due to institutional intervention or to pure popularity & "PR" is irrelevant, as the result is the same either way.

LOL, BULLS**T!!! From 14/15 to 17/18, KB had a total of 4 (four!) KO goals (and 1 deflected KO assist), 2 of which were results of massive GK blunders. He scored 11 league goals in 16/17, then 5 (five!) the following season. No amount of shouting & epic music will change that.

Now if you think "Ronaldo isn't a top player anymore", just look a few tweets above. 21/22 wasn't 7 years ago. Despite this situation continuing for weeks & weeks, CR7 was all smiles, always positive, & worked extra hard during his cameos, another thing people completely ignore.

Moving on the second category: Connective play. By that I mean actions such as: dropping BTLs, providing passing lanes and connecting the team... etc. Just think of the roles of Firmino & Griezmann. If it's still not clear, the clips should clarify it.

The criteria I use to assess players are the following : 1-Impact and - particularly for attackers - decisiveness (This includes productivity, of course). 2-Longevity & consistency. 3-Adaptability, mainly across teams and leagues, but also across tactical systems and such. (1/2)

In 21/22 , Ronaldo : - Scored 24 in PL + CL, almost all of which were decisive. - Was the PLs 3rd top goalscorer (18 G). - Averaged 0.70 g/90 in PL + CL, only ~5% lower than Salah's average, while playing for an infinitely-worse side. (1/2)

To provide further context : Ronaldo's 23 goals this season : - 20 game-state-changing goals (An unbelievable 87% of his total). - 1 goal from a losing position vs Arsenal. - The 2nd goal vs Norwich, which ended up being crucial for the win. - 1 goal vs Burnley.
