So, women are to be silent according to 1 Cor 14, but then Paul sends Phoebe off with his letter from Corinth (to Rome). How does that work? Well, IMHO Paul doesn’t silence women or strip them of ecclesiological autonomy, it’s just a poor reading of scripture to uphold patriarchy

Paul was a Pharisee. Jewish women spoke in synagogues. It wasn’t Jewish Paul silencing women, it wasn’t his heritage. Rather it was Greco-Roman need to subordinate women. “they are not permitted to speak..as the LAW says” (1Cor 14)👈🏽 that’s not Jewish law & it’s not Paul’s words
