Many victims won’t have any left as they used it last year, or were coerced into withdrawing it under pandemic provisions. It’s not appropriate to make victims pay the costs of escaping crime. Flexible funding packages work better & can be tailored to individual needs #dfv

On #EqualPayDay I am thinking of the many women who have paid a huge financial cost in order to escape abusive long term relationships & had their entire careers derailed. Life is never the same… including personal and professional success. Recovery is long, and really hard.

Working with children to recover from #DFV was one of the earliest tenets of the Women’s Refuge Movement. Children were recognised as needing their own tailored services & recovery decades ago. We can’t allow this deep practice knowledge to be obscured ever again.
