@cricketkit It's okay to say Australia out-thought and outplayed India, and we're the best team in the day. Over 50 years of ODI cricket, Australia is the most successful ODI team, and if you let them get in the final this is always going to be a risk. India didn't lose, Australia won.

Whatever happened to the diagonal fast bowler run-up?! Has that been coached out of youngsters? Cause a lot of VERY good bowlers like Marshall used to do that.

Okay, I'll admit 23 runs off the last over including 6,4,4,4 to win off the last ball is entertaining stuff, but seriously, thank god that's over. Bilateral T20Is, especially when the dust has barely settled on a epic world cup, are more of an issue than ODI cricket.

Cricket does not exist as a business to make money. Cricket is about bringing joy and happiness to the most people possible. If that also earns people a living good, but care for the soul of the game first, and money second.

Well done England on putting up a fight. It's not gone their way & my commiserations to England fans. There will be inquisitions & hangings but for my two bob: Too much resting on 2019 laurels; Too much belief in T20/100 skills; Not enough domestic One Day Cup participation.

Sri Lanka cricket when they were yellow with blue instead of blue with yellow. They wore this kit in the first ever ODI I attended. #SriLanka #SrilankaCricket @OfficialSLC

@ovshake42 One of the things that revolutionised approaches to ODI cricket in the 80s was Ian Chappell and Allan Border both played baseball in the spring before cricket season started. They were both into drilling ground fielding, close catching and sharp throwing for the run out.

But now I am revisiting, this time I think I've got it covered - World Series kits in a couple of parts. Part 1: The first decade 1979/80 to 1989/90: Packer's World Series Cricket started in 1977/78, and soon introduced coloured clothing for night cricket, which was a hit.

@cricketkit I mean. "Bazball" or not, it was a stupid call on a flat track. Aussies got lucky with some silly & (Brook) random wickets. But this is a flat track. Unless something random happens tomorrow, Australia could, and should end around 3/350-400. Day three, pile misery.

@JainAAviral @SIRMRCRICKET @collinsadam I would hate to suggest the BCCI didn't want the 50-over world cup to be a huge success crowd wise, so T20 becomes dominant form, or that they only care about selling out India-Pakistan and hopefully (for them) India winning the final.

@TheBarmyArmy Bellerive Oval, Hobart. Spectacular setting - lunch or innings break, pass out and a quick swim at the beach in the Derwent, delicious food at Bellerive's waterfront hotel and then back for more cricket. Plus still has the historic hill & southerly sea breeze to mix up bowling.

The next retro legend to be featured is Australia's indefatigable Allan Border. AB played 156 tests, scoring an astonishing 11,174 runs at 50.56. In 273 ODIs he made 6,524 runs at 30.62. He took a few SLO wickets, was a gun arm at runouts & rebuilt Australia from a 1980s slump.

@FoxCricket I don't think that was a low moment for Australia, I think that was an epic, well deserved moment for the Windies and it's unfair on them to suggest Australia played badly. Joseph earned them a win against our great team, and fair play to them for it.

One thing no one can argue with is that One Day International cricket is the undisputed King of limited overs cricket. I wouldn't get rid of 50-over cricket in a million years. No T20 tournament ever produces such drama, so many brilliant moments, #LongLiveODICricket

@cricketjim1 Have another think though, it's not a super crazy idea. If Australia had of finished the day at 14 for 1 or 2, it would have been genius. In cricket, chancing your arm sometimes pays off.
