You do not get to assume my vote.
And you certainly don't get to offer me a shit sandwich, then act disingenuously incredulous when I reject it, and smugly smear me as the problem with US politics.
LPNH should be disaffiliated.
This is over the line. Way, WAY the hell over the line.
Someone just shot at Trump this afternoon.
Political violence is abhorrent, from whatever "side" to whatever "side".
Lots of left libertarians will nod sagely when at "it's easier to teach economics than it is to teach someone why they should care about others."
Then they'll go and wish ill on their political enemies, being wholly undeterred by the irony & hypocrisy.
Wrong is wrong, folks.
@davidhogg111
You are trying to control the gun, the implement used to do the violence, rather than seek out and work on the root causes of violence. Why do you not see how futile this methodology is? You obviously care a great deal about it and you have invested yourself deeply. I hope 1/?

Private tyranny is indeed still tyranny. Yet leaving aside the philosophical aspects, how anyone with any sense of this world can claim it will be "only private voluntary action" is beyond me. That is absurdly naive, and this must be fought tooth and nail.
I'm looking forward to debating
@ComicDaveSmith
on Friday the 11th.
Live streamed for
@LionsofLiberty
fans, and to be released later.
It will be informal, and the topics are: "Racism inherently violates the NAP. The Mises caucus promotes entryism."
How about we abort the phrase "states' rights"?
Federalism & decentralization are tools to keep governments in check. This does not mean (nor should it ever be taken as validation of the idea that) states have rights.
"States' rights" is at its core a form of collectivism.
If you think laws forcing people to wear clothes "appropriate to their gender" are ok, but called masks in public tyranny ...
your opinion on liberty will be summarily discarded.
@davidhogg111
If you think that protecting the right to keep and bear arms should be conflated with the not-a-right to murder, I have one thing to say to you:
You're seriously confused.
@JoshEakle
I clicked other. I'm thousands of miles away & the fog of war is thick enough for people literally there.
Hamas' attack was absolutely brutal & requires a response, but strategy & tactics of that response are extremely nuanced & well outside my base of knowledge.
When Jo tweeted about "anti-racism", a main thread of push back was "libertarians ought not use the language of our enemies."
This push back is chiefly from people who've gladly taken language of the alt-right vis-a-vis "pills", "cathedrals", &c
Make of this what you will..
Ancaps actually be like:
2020: no lock downs! freedom of movement is a human right!
2023: close the border! freedom of movement isn't for illegal immigrants!
2020: bodily autonomy! no vaccine mandates!
2023: noo!! trans people don't have bodily autonomy!
Anarcho-hypocrites!!
Please, NEVER post a haloed politician ever again, for any reason, under any circumstances. He ain't a saint and shouldn't be worshiped. Like all of us, he's a fallible human.
McCarthy has been ousted as Speaker of the House.
We now need a new Speaker.
That individual does not have to be currently elected.
They must be committed to making the House democratic again and, to do so, must understand exactly what's broken.
The answer is clear.
The proper libertarian response to a Trump indictment is glee, sheer utter joy. ALL politicians should be held accountable, at all levels.
That he held the highest office in our country shouldn't exempt him from that - it should be PRECEDENT for the rest!
@davidhogg111
The plural of anecdote is not data.
You can claim whatever you'd like to claim, but in the end, if there's nothing tangible to back it, it remains only a claim.
You can call yourself a libertarian and be anti gun.
You will be correctly lambasted for not actually being libertarian.
You can call yourself a libertarian and be pro Trump.
You will be correctly lambasted for not actually being libertarian.
"Chase wore a mask! I'm going to vote for the war criminal that pushed operation warp speed!" is truly some next level Dunning-Kruger. Congrats, idiots, you've looped back on your stupidity in defiance of all mathematical laws.
@cottonarchist
"It is immoral to initiate force or fraud against a non consenting person."
This is our foundational principle. It's wrong to start aggression, but self defense is entirely fine. And as many libertarians realize the government can't and won't protect them, they arm themselves.
As a reward for this sign of decency, I have unmuted
@802libertarian
for the day and will sincerely answer three questions of his, in an attempt to cooperate with his case building.
@L1821Liberty
@ComicDaveSmith
I think it should go without saying I'm no fan of Dave Smith, but this is a blatant statistical bait & switch. Show actual polls of the general public rather than a twitter poll which is a) unscientific by definition and b) heavily loaded with libertarians.
Saw a tweet some troll posted, a pic of someone hanging from a tree, with the Trans flag superimposed, & "was/were" text.
If this is your idea of anything remotely okay, you have no humanity or soul.
And this is PRECISELY why the second amendment is for Trans people & allies.
@KimDotcom
.
@CommunityNotes
what say you? Reverse image search seems to tell me these are real yachts but they don't belong to Zelensky near as I can tell.
@JabariBrisport
I certainly support capitalism - that is to say, free markets - in this economy. Too bad we have corporatism, due to decades of busy bodies buying government influence.
@davidhogg111
"I'm a responsible gun owner" is propaganda for "I'm a gun owner that agrees with the victim disarmament agenda."
The *VAST* majority of gun owners are peaceable folk who won't hurt a soul.
Don't buy David's implication of gun owners being irresponsible by disagreeing with him.
What is the common cause between an abolitionist and a slaver?
None. Zero. Nothing.
So why should there be common cause between libertarians & the alt-right? "Being anti war" doesn't make you libertarian, the fundamental acceptance & defense of equal human rights for all does.
I'm listening to the debate between Dave Smith & Tho Bishop.
I recommend NOT turning it into a drinking game, keyed to when they say "Ron Paul"; you'll die from alcohol poisoning.
We can - & should - sell liberty without selling a person.
Liberty is always greater.
@davidhogg111
So ...
Simple question for you,
@davidhogg111
:
If the police won't confront someone with an AR-15, who exactly is it you imagine will be collecting all the AR-15s if you get your fevered dreams passed into legislation?
I've been called a statist by anarchists.
I've been called an anarchist by statists.
I've been called a Trump supporter by Dems & a Biden supporter by Reps.
I've been called a right libertarian by left libertarians, & a left libertarian by right libertarians.

@ZubyMusic
They really aren't evolving into authoritarian regimes. All the underlying machinery of authoritarianism has been present for a very long time.
The gloves are coming off, but the iron fists have been there for those who've been watching.
@WalshFreedom
I do not stand with the Israeli government.
I absolutely stand with the Israeli people.
I do not stand with Hamas.
I absolutely stand with the Palestinian people.
Globally we need to understand we're one big family, and finally share this globe in peace.
So Dave thinks wishing Joe a happy birthday is over the line .. but actively defends Nick Fuentes.
If this kind of thing doesn't crystallize the picture for you, I'm not sure what will.
@ToddHagopian
Voting is not a natural right, it's derived from equality under the law. Presenting ID to vote is in no way antilibertarian, and in fact can help prevent fraud, and fraud is antilibertarian.
The no-fly list has always been abused, and so long as it exists, always will be. It provides no safety, it exists solely as a mechanism for government to control us. It's security theater to keep people compliant.
No-fly lists for political speech is an egregious violation of free speech and free movement.
We as libertarians should always defend the rights of others, even when they wouldn't do the same for us. That includes the rights of those we disagree with.
If you think vaccine mandates are bad (they are) because of bodily autonomy (bingo!), but refuse to protect the rights of trans people to their own bodily autonomy, you never were about anyone's liberty but your own.
*WARNING* - a dog gets shot in this video
Ohio cop shoots harmless golden retriever with its tail waging then continues shooting the dog as it flees the violent officer and Dixie (the dog) ultimately dies.
The neighbors instantly react the way they do because it's so obvious
Even with it being this blatant there will be too many in the LP saying "let's try to work with this".
The LP was a dumpster fire before - now it's a toxic, radioactive dumpster fire.
There’s no room for you because you’re a pro lockdown, pro deep state, pro proxy war in Ukraine, Russiagater. You can call us whatever names you’d like to but we stand for something different: liberty. Btw, you are much closer to Trump, politically, than we are.
@ScottAdamsSays
Oh wow, how special of you. Supporting Trump or not doesn't have to hinge on the actions of previous Presidents. You should have seen the fallacy here a mile away, so this is pure nonsense.
Idolizing Ron Paul like this is the opposite of unity, and the opposite of individualism. I most certainly love freedom & liberty, but am not a huge fan of Ron Paul,
@ToddHagopian
If you can't win in the marketplace, and you retreat to the Government to force out your competition, you are not the victim. You deserve to lose.
Abolish intellectual "property" laws.
@richiecastaldo
I surely have my disagreements with
@JoshuaAtLarge
, Richie, but if you don't have *VERY* good evidence, while I'm not a lawyer, this looks like he has a strong case for libel.
What gives?
@JohnGuaido69
@fakertarians
@LPNational
He was commander in chief and held the nuke codes, signed odious laws into existence, proposed authoritarian BS 24/7/365 .. but sure, whatever it takes to carry water for the new LP. 😉
Putin is a KGB trained dictator.
Forget that to your own peril.
To speak in his favor only means the KGB training worked on you.
Look in the mirror.
You are the puppet.
That feeling in the back of your pants?
Putin's hand up your ass.
The essence of libertarianism is respect of & for consent. Respecting your own consent means taking responsibility for your own choices.
Respecting others consent means not infringing on their rights; even aiding the protection of their rights when necessary.

I had no idea who the guy was until I heard him calling me a white nationalist on a podcast and saw he blocked me. I’m happy to give him a chance to defend those absurd accusations.
Assume for argument sake that Barrack Obama is bisexual.
Honestly, who gives a fuck? No, really. Don't you have millions of things to worry your damn self over??
Grow the fsck up.
@checkmatestate
I don't think that's the sticking point. It sure ain't mine.
The real issue is in building a panopticon that monitors & authorizes your movements. Given how quickly government encroachment is, we need to be pushing back on that hard.
Those who identify as part of the "Ron Paul 2.0" movement see this as a feature, not a bug. It's because they don't actually understand liberty.
They believe bigotry is okay, but bigotry is a particularly ugly form of collectivist nonsense.
Follow principles, not people.
