#Bears
have a poor offensive line and group of WRs, but “the quarterback hasn’t played well enough,"
@BradBiggs
says.
“That’s a conversation that some folks refuse to take part in,” Biggs says. “He has not arrived as a passing quarterback."
Listen:
My takes from this presser:
1. The new stadium is 100% happening
2. The Bears are gonna make a huge emphasis on bringing in legit talent
3. Justin Fields is going nowhere
4. The Bears see a chance to win very quickly
Nick Foles says they played Dreams & Nightmares by
@MeekMill
in the locker room, brought back some Philly memories and they were fired up: "I'm more of a country, Christian rap type person, but when you play meek, I get excited"
Interesting stuff from Adam Schefter just now on ESPN 1000, he’s saying the bears have been playing nice with Roquan this whole time, and now they like well okay you wanna do that bet. You're off PUP come on now buddy, you're healthy, and under contract
It doesn't matter who the QB is. I want Bears fans to have a come to Jesus moment right now. This franchise, since it's inception, has not drafted and developed a good QB in its entire history. They don't know how and the people they hire, also do not know how.
There is some obsession amongst the media with "how" Justin succeeds. When he was running for his life and making something out of nothing, it was "Get his receivers involved" when its his skill players doing well, it's "he needs to do it himself"...
Makes no sense
Nobody hates Bagent but you can’t criticize Justin for shit then pull out pleas when Bagent does the same thing, y’all was crowning him all week….look in the mirror he’s a backup QB & nothing more, that’s not his fault it’s y’all for doing too much
We all want a
#1
WR but if there’s anything this years playoffs is showing you is that games are won in the trenches & that should be Ryan Poles
#1
objective building the OL & DL
He said he's spoken with people and gotten basically the #'s on what they're offering him, and he said that it's a compelling offer. Schefty took the offer to other teams and people around the league and he got a unilateral response that "damn, that's a good deal"
Ryan Pace is sitting directly behind us and the rest of the Chicago media. There is nothing but chatter about how bad this team is. What does that do for you or to you as the GM? I can't speak for him but this would piss me off. What a terrible on field product
I think it’s hilarious that Bears are still trying to “find the severity” of Justin‘s injury when Ian Rap, Adam Schefter and JUSTIN FIELDS himself said it was only bruised ribs, straight up clown show
Ryan Poles jaw just dropped after that Justin Fields scramble drill throw. (literally, he's behind me,
@BarbChairScott
and
@NicholasMoreano
(who caught it)
I'm sorry, you can't take a QB. Too much promise in this team with Fields and the haul you can get is massive. You have three generational WR in this draft and the best CFB tight end ever.
Jurko from ESPN 1000 just dropped the nugget he has it on good sources that by the end of this week the bears will announce it is Kevin Warren who will be named President….so we will see
Be careful with any breaking news you see or hear about the Bears, coaches, players, etc. Dont know any credentialed or connected journalist who's spoken or even mentioned the possibility of any of the things floating around. Wait for the facts
What I took from that press conference:
1. Poles isn’t going to spend money on anybody who isn’t a fit for Flus system
2. They’re gonna draft a C but Whitehair will start for now
3. Poles really believes in Braxton Jones
4. Poles is gonna do a lot of trading back
The
#Bears
have decided to go ahead with Justin Fields as the franchise QB and will try to trade the 1st overall pick in the draft instead of drafting a quarterback prospect, according to
@AlbertBreer
Fields impressed the Bears organization on how he handled the 2022 season
We’ve been saying since October that the feeling in the building was Flus being back & national media have confirmed such things but if Ryan Poles, Kevin Warren & George McCaskey really care about winning that man should not have a job tomorrow morning
The bad news today: the secondary got in Caleb's ass
The good news: this is a VERY good secondary and it'll be good for Caleb to learn from a group this good.
But it's clear the defense is picking up where they left off. Caleb did have four offensive starters out including Rome
Im not tripping on that pick, I’m tripping on the Bears not allowing Justin to go through his growing pains, 28 pass attempts in 2 games is not how you groom a young QB
Also said he has no market at this point
What team has the $$ at this point to pay him what he wants + pay the bears what they want?
Said he finds it very hard to believe they'll get a 1st for em
