@44MagnumBlue1 One of my best/worst missions in Vietnam was delivering mermite cans of hot turkey, mashed potatoes & gravy to troops in the field Thanksgiving Day 1968. To do it I had to hover for 10 min over triple canopy jungle in the mtns, lowering the cans on ropes. Felt like a huge 🎯🚁

At 120 ft hover w/LZ cutting equipment being lowered by rope, tail rotor struck a tree. Aircraft crashed & burned. LTC on board took Antol's helmet to talk with the AC while they were landing so there was no way to clear the tail rotor on the left. 3 KIA. Hand Salute!🇺🇸🚁
