girls (me) when they realize that they can't stay locked up in their room reading their books forever and that eventually they'll have to interact with the world
I get nervous when people ask me for book recs because I have a tendency to overhype my favorite books and I'm always afraid of people being disappointed when they read them 😭
my favorite part in romance books is when a character doesn't realize they have feelings for their love interest so they spend half a chapter wondering why they suddenly care about them so much
my toxic trait as a reader is that, whenever I'm reading a book with a lot of suspense, I constantly fight the urge to find a spoiler so that I could mentally prepare myself because I hate the unknown!!
one thing about me?? i take way too long to read or watch something popular 😍 everyone will move on and then there I am, 6 months later ready to discuss it!!
smut is fun or whatever but I also want to see the characters actually fall in love. I want to see them develop a connection way beyond sexual tension and trauma bonding
listen bestie i know your tbr pile is like, up to 1000 by now BUT! you can make it 1001 by adding an adorable YA romance about two robotics club nerds falling in love!!! 💕
I'm also willing to bet that some of the classics in the future will have a "great gatsby moment" where it wasn't a huge commerical success but became popular later on
