Udupi Krishna Matha bans usage of sugar and maida in the Matha, heeding to the call of Baba Ramdev. They will use Jaggery, Chana and wheat from now on. Currently they require about 100 kg sugar and 50 kg maida everyday for making prasad.

Jama Masjid in Srirangapattana was a Hanuman temple! Seems page 61 of the Mysuru Archaeological Department‘s report prepared in 1935, says there was a Hanuman temple at Jama Masjid Site. The rpt says Tippu destroyed a Hanuman temple in 1787 & constructed twin towered Jama Masjid.
