One thing that I've been rather skeptical about the project is the decision to go with the projected face instead of the mechanical animation, but in reality they do look rather nice especially with the curved shape. It's of course challenging to film or photograph.

One clever detail about Amira/Ameera is that the "personal space" detection works not on sensing capacitance or anything but just on "how big the face gets in the camera", a simple yet clever solution. There are also no touch sensors as no physical interaction is intended.

Meanwhile I'm in Tokyo and I visited android Anne by A-Lab installed by @Lets_BOATRACE at Six Wake Roppongi @SIXWAKEROPPONGI . The sculpt is nice, but unfortunately there's only facial animation, hands are static, and overall the display is mostly static. Expect videos later.
