Dame Mary Quant (1930-2023) We were honoured to share the Mary Quant exhibition with our visitors in 2020. It’s impossible to overstate Quant’s contribution to fashion. She represented the joyful freedom of 1960s fashion, and provided a new kind of role model for young women.

We are saddened to learn of John Byrne's death, he truly was a creative Scottish visionary, playwright and designer. We proudly display Byrne’s pop-up stage in our Scottish Design Galleries, designed in 1973 for The Cheviot, the Stag and the Black, Black Oil.
