The "if you want to see your culture in a game, go make one yourself" crowd are always very quiet when people do exactly that and then are berated for said game being "woke forced diversity"
Abubakar Salim, the creative director of Tales of Kenzera: ZAU, issued a statement today addressing the "constant targeted harassment" both he and his studio have faced since the release of game.
I would just like to say I'm not Christian and am not familiar with all of your lore. So when I discuss moral and political issues on my stream, I don't even know what version of the bible you're running or what DLC you have so compatibility is not guaranteed. Leave me alone.
A lot of times I read YT comments that are like "Ugh Bronze is the worst, if she was at my table-"
I'm gonna stop you right there. I can believe I'm a dragonborn, I can believe in magic & vampires. But my imagination ends at imagining a scenario where I play with fucking losers.
D&D twitter: The only rule that matters is the Rule of Cool. As long as the DM and players are having fun do what you want!
*D&D movie trailer drops*
D&D twitter: No. Not like that.
Randomly remembered getting dinged on a book report for it being "too long" when I went a page over the limit in 4th grade. She told me in my "attempt to be an overachiever" I only proved I was bad at instructions and too eager to "show off".
I get paid to write now. Bitch.
Had someone come into my channel and inform me that since DesiQuest hit 150k we "better have production value equal to CR" and this has convinced me that a lot of people have NO fucking clue what things cost to make or how things are actually made lmao.
Once I was followed for 4 blocks in Seattle by a man asking me for a hug. So. Yeah. Of course women ignore strangers on the street trying to interact with them. I thought people knew this.
You can be a DM and not be a piece of shit. The seat doesn't come with "power" but with responsibility. Unfortunately, like most positions of perceived authority it tends to attract some of the worst types.
This makes me immeasurably sad.
I'm happy people are discovering the magic of DWoll's DMing, but also want to say, I think Deb comes from a very classic, whimsical place of storytelling. Relics & Rarities was the first D&D AP I was cast in and I felt spoiled because she DMs for the players, not the audience.
I'm just curious where this discourse goes when streamers dealing with racism on stream get told that "that's just the nature of being online".
I'm truly curious how this girl's tears matter but not all of the people hate raided and told to "just use safety tools"
The dichotomy of how people are reacting over the Queen's passing is the best thing I've ever seen on the internet.
As an Indian, I'll just say, I stand with Irish twitter on this one 🍻
I understand this but also think that MOST of the starting NPCs, with the exception of Gale & Karlach are abrasive.
I think Lae'zel gets singled out a little unfairly because she's not conventionally attractive like Astarion or Shadowheart but y'all ain't ready for that convo.
Lae'zel is the RPG party member equivalent of "the show gets really good after season 4".
I'm glad she has an arc, but im not putting up with her shit for 10 hours for her to eventually maybe stop being an ass.
Normally I am a wreck when a project I worked on is exposed to a bigger audience than I am used to. A lot of times its accompanied with a lot of negativity and its not always a great experience for me.
But y'all Dimension 20 fans built different.
Is it just me or does it feel like any time a marginalized creator gets an opportunity they have to be put through some kind of impossible purity test to prove that they are worthy of it?
It feels like there is an immediate inquisition to determine if you are "perfect" enough.
I am SO very excited to be on Critical Role! Words cannot describe how excited I am to roll dice with this stellar cast; especially in a setting I admire so much! I can't wait to bring the DOOT DOOT as the Revenant of the partyyy
LETS GO TO HELL 🔥👿🔥
Today is the day! The DesiQuest Kickstarter is live. I've poured my heart into this with and am endlessly grateful to
@sandeepparikh
,
@rekhalshankar
and
@sweeetanj
for going on this journey with me. I hope you'll join us on this quest!
A special D&D one shot by me:
People sang and danced in the streets, but in the depths, something dark stirred. The Lich sought to regain its former power. Adventurers! You must seek out the Kohinoor ripped from India and restore it to its home to rid the phylactery of its power
Wow! Elmo is glad he asked! Elmo learned that it is important to ask a friend how they are doing. Elmo will check in again soon, friends! Elmo loves you.❤️
#EmotionalWellBeing
Visited the hobby shop while wearing my Inquistorial rosette and got asked who I was buying minis for. Love that some experiences are universal even when you cross an ocean.
Well, shit. Now I'm curious if there are any FALL ren faires. It seems that traditionally this is a summer activity (at least the ones I've been to) but I kind of want to go to one in fall now.
I'm Sikh and sending me emails about how, actually, abortions are against the bible. Is like telling me women don't have rights in Skyrim and therefore that should matter to me.
Lol do the people commenting that "everything is too woke these days" in regard to Sandman realize that the comic included all of this and came out before I was even born?
Its almost like the world is full of all kinds of people and their existence is more than a marketing ploy
"ACTUALLY WARHAMMER ISN'T THAT EXPENSIVE. KILLTEAM MAKES IT EASIER TO GET UP AND RUNNING WITH FEWER UNITS.THERE ARE MULTIPLE WAYS TO ENGAGE IN THE HOBBY. SOME PEOPLE DON'T EVEN PURCHASE THE MINIATURES BUT ENJOY THE BOOKS AND LORE. THERE ARE ALSO GAMES LIKE VERMINTIDE, TOTAL WAR-"
Ah yes, my "connections" to CR and Penny Arcade, which includes *checks notes*
Creating indie projects on my own channel for years while holding down a full-time job until that work was noticed and appreciated by studios that eventually gave me a shot.
Nepo baby bronze.
Yes, I can confirm Wizards put out an email essentially reassuring creators who were already on the influencer list that they could make remarks about the OGL without fear of repurcussion.
A lot of us already have made negative remarks about it. No, we're not being paid off.
Went to yoga this morning and got some confusing looks. This crouton looking bitch tells me "you don't need to wear that anymore", pointing at my mask.
I hit her with the "Please, I don't know where you people have been" and went on with my business.
Fucking FACTS. Rogue Trader actually gives you options I did not expect in a 40k game! But these options come with disrupting the status quo and loudly pointing out injustice that others have become numb to. This paints a target on your back.
a huge problem that a lot of RPGs have is that doing the right thing is 'free', or even explicitly rewards you.
rogue trader does let you try to do right, at a cost
if incurring costs from doing the right thing stops you, you aren't actually as good a person as you thought
Y'all. I am running my first ever campaign on my OWN channel and I am so excited for you to meet my super talented and creative friends travel through the world I've built just for them. I hope you'll join us in the cold wilds.
So many of the poor takes coming from D&D twitter just reminds me of how many people never got over high school.
At one point, someone bullied them for something and they've carried that their whole life without resolving it and turned it into a character trait.
I know folks complain about power gamers, minmaxers, players who stumble through campaigns murdering every npc they meet... but I think the most annoying D&D players are the "I basically play myself so any in-game criticism of my character is now a criticism of me" types.
Not gonna lie I am lowkey peeved by the amount of people acting like Tormund is entitled to Brienne's box just because he's been "loyal".
This reeks of the whole "nice guys finish last" bullshit. Keep that nonsense.
I like Tormund. But B doesn't owe him shit.
It’s official: The Witcher is returning for Season 4, and Henry Cavill will be handing his swords to Liam Hemsworth as the new Geralt of Rivia after Season 3. Welcome to the Witcher family,

Hi. You're not YouTube. When ads play in the middle of the stream viewers actively miss out on content (muted or not). Add this to the fact that viewers are hit with an ad as soon as they enter a stream, so channel surfing is cumbersome.
Idk why y'all hate viewer retention
🔬 Starting today, we'll be testing automated mid-roll ads for some viewers. These ads will directly support the Creator and won't run if the viewer has had an ad break in that channel recently. Your feedback is welcomed to help shape this feature!
📚:
A lot of people feel the need to ask me if I'm gay or not. Let me put it this way:
Its none of your fucking business. All you need to know is that I will never be interested in you, random viewer.
I identify as gofuckyourselfexual. Find your digital waifu elsewhere.
Whoever keeps telling dudes to meet women at bookstores and not clubs needs to chill.
To the dude who repeatedly tried to chat me up in the half priced books and then followed me out: I don't feel bad for turning around and nailing you square in the chest with my lukewarm coffee
I think the most boomer mentality is thinking that looking something up is "defeat". This whole concept that "back in my day we didn't have..."
Refusing to use resources available to you isn't smart. Its inefficient and therefore, pretty fucking stupid.
“I wish it need not have happened in my time,” said Frodo. “So do I,” said Gandalf, “and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”
Sometimes when people aren't super loud about dunking on a morally bereft individual its not that they are in support of said person, but rather that they know better than to center themselves over the victims speaking out.
But y'know. Some of y'all fair folk don't get that.
Listen. I consulted on this season of D20 and Ima just say: Y'all. Are. Not. Ready.
This is the one. I'm so friggin excited for what Brennan has cooked up in that messed up brilliant brain of his.
There is a subset of people who are SO bitter about D&D that they will log in and cape for HASBRO. I'll never understand it.
Hasbro is not your fucking friend. They did not make this decision because they want to save your hobby. They did it to please their shareholders.
It failed to land with any audience at all. 🤷🏽♀️
The only thing it succeeded at is uniting everyone against it.
It's weird because the animation is quite lovely. The voice cast is fantastic. The source material is well loved. It had everything going for it, and well, here we are.
In 2017 I stood in line to get my copy of SMT IV signed by
@matthewmercer
, he was kind, warm and told me to keep writing.
3 years later I got to guest on Critical Role's DOOM show. To me, THATS the Matthew Mercer effect.
Congrats on 7 years! Y'all made something truly special.
Alot of people that consume content do so in silence. Myself included! There are people that enjoy a THING, watch the thing and then go do other things! They don't tell other people their opinion on the thing or talk to other people who also like the thing online. This is OKAY.
This. This right here is the right take. I hear the tired "video games are a waste of time" take all the time on social media. I much prefer the way Offerman puts it. For *him*, he has a hard time balancing how much he loves gaming with the rest of his life. And that's okay 👍🏽
My heart goes out to all of the lovely folks at WotC. Its bullshit that stupid decisions from dickheads at the top falls down on the talented hardworking folks in the middle.
I know y'all will land on your feet, but you shouldn't have to.
TTRPG dudes will come at you with some condescending nasty energy and then be shocked when you refuse to continue the conversation.
I quit working at the game store a few years ago, buddy. I'm not chained to the register anymore. I can tell you to fuck off and not get fired.
We're excited to announce Sandkheg’s Hide, a premiere whiskey collaboration with our pals at

You can disagree with someone and not hate them. Your friends don't have to be perfect replicas of yourself and your beliefs.
Surrounding yourself with a diverse circle of people will expose you to a cornucopia of new ideas and points of view.
Thats it.
Folks making the case that a turn based game shouldn't have won GOTY over an action adventure game is wild to me. I personally do not view turn based games as dated. I do not believe advances in technology = we can finally get rid of turn based.
I agree! I will also add: Dungeon Masters, its not your job to make sure everyone else has fun. D&D is a collaborative game and it is everyone's job to make sure the game is fun for everyone. The whole table wins or the whole table loses.
Lift each other up.
Streamers 364 days out of the year: "I don't discuss politics, I like to keep my stream positive and uplifting for my viewers 🥰"
AOC announces she's streaming: "ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME"
Listen. Don't feel bad if you don't feel like you accomplished anything in 2022.
1. Deadlines you arbitrarily set for yourself are whatever.
2. Survival is an act of defiance and is worthy of celebration.
3. Measure your life in a metric more meaningful than productivity.
As someone who has worked holidays, save the whole "oh my goddddddd you poor thing you have to work today???? Why aren't you with your family???"
1. Maybe they don't LIKE their family 2. Maybe they don't celebrate and wanted the extra holiday pay 3. Just tip well and be nice lmao
I told
@TheCameronRice
I wanted some "DM" photos for my TTRPG projects and this is what he delivered.
Y'all messed up letting me figure out how hot I am thats all I'm gonna say.
The real Hermes is watching y'all slander hot Asian Hermes during AAPI month... I'd watch out for your fertility and credit score, bro. Not a god ya wanna be smote by.
Waiting for the last episode to hit YouTube because I missed it live but
#ExUCalamity
might be the first ttrpg that I watch:
1.) All the way through
2.) Not on two times speed
IN a LONG time.
I like it that much.
