Tomorrow at 12.30pm we take part in a service of Regret, remembrance and restoration at Crossbones Graveyard on Red Cross Way where we remember those buried in this unconsecrated ground, including the medieval sex-workers, licensed at that time by the church but rejected in death

and a fascinating piece written by
@archdeaconSwk
about Dr Samuel Johnson and his fine cat Hodge.
Hodge continues to make the place very much his own. He has met the Mayor of London, the Sacristy is full of plush cat beds he has abandoned in favour of a cardboard box, passing priests are being gently bullied by this face into playing with feathers on a string.
We are delighted to announce that the

One year ago, those who planned the

attack, sought to divide our community. Tonight we held a
#Interfaithiftar

Tomorrow is the 3rd anniversary of the London Bridge and Borough Market attack. We are honoured to have had a corbel dedicated to

@deansouthwark
received a special delivery for
@HodgeTheCat
from Cavehill Primary School in Belfast.
Hodge was very pleased with the Christmas cards from the children of P3GK.
God of unfailing compassion,
Make us strong in the face of terror,
Loving in the presence of hatred,
Bold in our diversity,
always knowing
that you hand holds us
and your life sustains us,
today and always
Amen
Due to an ongoing incident at London Bridge the Cathedral is closed until further notice. Please keep in your prayers those who are caught up and dealing with this incident.

20 years ago the Girls’ Choir was formed to enrich the Cathedral’s musical heritage and to offer the opportunities for musical, spiritual and social development which the boys had enjoyed for so long. Today marks 20 year anniversary since they sung Evensong for the first time 🙏
Strange though it is to have an empty Cathedral, we are so appreciative of the space, light, and vision in this glorious building. It makes us think anew about the devotion in planning and creating places of worship. Somewhere for a community to be spiritually fed and uplifted.
We are delighted to announce the appointment of the Reverend Canon Kathryn Fleming as Precentor. Kathryn is currently Canon for Worship and Community

What a lovely day with iconographer Hanna Ward who taught us how to paint Ukranian Pysanky eggs. Everyone created something beautiful! Thanks to
