SEIU Local 1000 is California’s largest union of state employees representing 96,000 workers statewide. Following does not necessarily mean supporting.
SEIU Local 1000 members like Dako have been underpaid & undervalued by the State for too long.
Our members will keep fighting for a contract that makes a difference to our families, our communities, & to us: the workers who make California run.

After over 4 months of negotiations, our bargaining team has reached an overall tentative agreement with the State of California. If ratified, the contract would significantly raise the wage floor for tens of thousands of workers as the biggest three-year contract in our history.
This is what it takes to win.
The State heard us loud and clear. Thanks to our actions, the support of our members, and the whole California labor movement, we are BACK at the table today.
Our fight for respect, protection, and PAY continues.

After more than four months of intense bargaining with the State by our bargaining team, SEIU Local 1000 members voted to approve the Tentative Agreement (TA) that will become the contract that governs our wages, benefits, and working conditions.
Once again, the State shows how little they care for the state workers who make California work. Their "proposals" are rejections and takeaways. Join the fight:

It’s official — we now have a full-executed contract with the State after Gov. Newsom signs SB148 into law, funding our compensation and benefits for the next three years!

When state workers are underpaid, we all suffer.
"Severe understaffing means it takes longer to open buildings, which means we can help fewer people & those awaiting housing are forced to live on the streets longer." - Krystal Coles, union member at DHCD
