Note to all levels of government in Canada. Knock it off with the “advantage” of cheap tech labour!! We have outstanding tech talent and we need to scale-up so we can compete effectively for talent. We are not a branch plant economy!!!
Part of the problem is that some tech leaders and politicians list lower salaries in Canada as a selling feature to attract big foreign tech giants to locate here. Great if we want to build a branch plant economy, not so great if we want to grow GDP meaningfully and prosper

This tech exec loves his country, but seemingly not as much as every dollar in capital gains. He is among the richest 0.1% of Canadians, yet taxing him a bit more to pay for affordable housing and school lunches is ‘divisive and political’.

This very ill-advised tax hike penalizing Canadian success by pitting Canadians against one another in economic class warfare is disappointing for sure. Canada’s economic future for everyone is in a precarious position and one cannot tax their way into prosperity.

A few points to clarify vaccine distribution in Ontario.
1. We get ~400K doses of Pfizer weekly. It shows up like clockwork. It gets distributed throughout the province in ~1-2 days & there is very little at the end of the week. This is administered at mass vaccine clinics.

Absolutely ridiculous. It is and has only been about the data. When you don’t have the data or the right data how on earth can you make the appropriate policy decisions. We need clear definitions of what is a COVID related ICU patient and death. Caseload reporting is meaningless.
Dr. Kieran Moore confirmed that about 50% of Ontario’s covid hospitalization numbers aren’t actually people in hospital for covid, they are incidental findings. So they will update the way numbers are reported.
