Excited to reveal "Don't Go Where I Can't Find You" is
@ShortoftheWeek
!
Inspired by a wealth of cinema from Peter Strickland to David Lynch, this ghost story sees a haunted composer break from reality in search of contact with the dead.
WATCH NOW:
One of the most haunting things about living in Berlin is there are ‘Stolpersteine’, small plaques in the cobbles outside homes to mark those who lived there and died/went missing at the hands of the Nazis. They are everywhere when you look for them. Some on our street.
The official trailer for Ridley Scott’s ‘GLADIATOR 2’ has been released.
Starring Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, Denzel Washington, Joseph Quinn, Fred Hechinger, May Calamawy, Peter Mensah and Connie Nielsen.
Ehhhh...This gas thing just happened. Two girls came to my door. One of them said this was her boyfriend’s apartment and wtf was I doing there. She was trying to come in and was now convinced he was cheating.
He lives downstairs.
I am *scarlet* for her but that was brilliant.
Hi.
A ‘comedian’ in the Irish comedy scene took advantage of me while I was drinking, subsequently made my life hell in my first writing job and poisoned the well for me being rehired.
Goodnight!

PS Much love to every other voice who has shared tonight. X
Very big thanks to
@AerLingus
who made sure I was on the plane first and that I was comfy before anyone else got on. Stark difference to the frenzied angry ableist rush job
@Ryanair
made me do.
Eogh*n H*rris was my first ever screenwriting tutor. You’ve not known bewilderment until you’ve sat for two hours listening to his failed Michael Collins/Kevin Costner project or the wooden planet in his Alien 3 spec.
So after four negative antigen tests, I took a PCR and I’m positive.
Moral of the story is: antigen tests are unreliable. It’s a sneaky bastard virus so get a pcr to be sure. If you have any reason to, just get the pcr.
Also shout out to science and vaccines 💉
Leo Varadkar is an incredibly dangerous politician. To say poverty is a killer to disguise his Thatcherite disgust for the working classes or unwillingness to give PUP to frontline workers is a new low even for him. Remember he chose the economy over you and your family’s health.
I’ve met some people who scoff and think it’s an exaggerated fear that a lot of women have of being randomly murdered at any possible time.
It really isn’t exaggerated. So disturbed by what’s happened today in Tullamore. Thoughts are with the woman’s family.
Last night, the
@Ryanair
captain of flight 8558 to Berlin refused to let me board safely with crutches and threatened to leave me in
@DublinAirport
if I didn’t hop up the stairs.
The fucking fountain of money this Pope's visit is haemorrhaging out of us (over €20m and a morgue) and we can't give Homeless Crisis services more appropriate funding.
I can’t tell you how appreciative I am to everyone who has reached out, shared their stories and offered their support. It’s genuinely the first time I’ve talked about it where I haven’t felt overwhelming dread and shame.
I’m going to have pancakes. Pancakes of liberation.
I've a question about counseling...
My dad and his partner are both freelance counselors (with *incredible* insights) who have lost their jobs.
Hypothetically, do you think remote counseling would be something people would want to avail of - NOW of all times?

Hi
@Paddywagontour
, one of your bus drivers (beardy chap) literally just now rammed into the back of me on the quays, deliberately attempting to knock me down after beeping solidly for me to get out of the bike lane. Just thought I’d let you know.
@GardaTraffic
@dublincycling
So there is a producer working in the industry today that owes me €1500. And he's just simply stopped responding to my emails now that the job has been completed. This happens far too often in this industry.

This is such a shame to see a brilliant festival absolutely self-immolate its reputation in defence of well-documented bigots. I do hope whoever is involved can see it as an opportunity to cultivate a more compassionate view and recognise the pain this causes in our community.
Some fantastic news!
“Don’t Go Where I Can’t Find You” will be at this year’s

To our cast and crew, our funders and everyone who brought this film to life during the pandemic - thank you so much. This is a dream come true 🥂

Yessss. This!!!! 👏🏻👏🏻The ultimate middle class POV where we wonder “wouldn’t it be *awful* if we were poor?” is often a little too much of a genre and wish we were a little more self conscious about it.
Basically working class characters aren’t allowed to have fulfilling lives
Dickhead motorist: You’ve a huge arse !
Me: Thanks, your ma seems to think so when I sit on her face.
Dickhead motorist: *inaudible obscenities while getting out of car to confront me*
Me: *snaps registration and cycles away smiling and waving*
Cat is out of the bag!

Loved THE LIGHTHOUSE. Every shot was a marvel. Really incredible performances from Robert Pattinson and Willem Defoe. Beautiful and Brutal. Like a Tom Waits song presses through a Eisenstein / Melville grinder
Still thinking about SMALL THINGS LIKE THESE. It's an amazing study in collective trauma, and how silent complicity injures the whole community. The shame in Cillian's body language, the tragedy of helplessness. Extremely Irish and recognisable. Reminder of the debt we still owe.
Apart from all the lovelies I know popping up in it, I regret I didn’t care much for Banshees. Just couldn’t get over the begorrah of it all. Achill and Arans look gorgeous as always though.
That time in Tokyo I paid €30 for an hour at a cat cafe, which was a woman’s tiny one room apartment. The cats were ‘strictly’ all asleep so she insisted on adding me on FB then made me type her emails for the hour. Time zone wise, she’s the first to post happy birthday on my TL
In case you didn’t know, Adele Haenel came forward this last year as a victim of childhood sex abuse by a director.
She became the first prominent French actress to speak out on

I say again, you said this would only be for festival business. Please take the meaning of your words seriously. This is not a personal crusade. This is a professional industry with a community built on mutual respect. Please be a professional. And show respect if you want it.

Honoured to join some of my favourite Irish talents as one of

I mean - look how good looking and cool we all are 👌🏻

If Lyric FM goes, we'll lose the best and only platform for new Irish classical music. We've a thriving contemporary music industry, incredible internationally successful composers and performers -and if RTE cut it, we'd have nowhere to hear any of them.

One thing I've learned this year is you have to celebrate your wins, no matter how small. In the midst of burn out, stress and deadlines, you can gloss over the successes if you don't take a moment to see them for what they are. Very Live, Love, Laugh of me I know but is true.
Absolutely screaming delighted to be working with the awesome Deirdre Levins
