A rep for
@taylorswift13
just told me drop count for night two in Tampa is 68,811. Night one saw 68,517, for an average of 68,664. If Swift hits that number on Saturday, it'll be a staggering 205,992 over three nights. Well over my most generous estimate.
Tis the damn season, folks. There are 69,131 people at RayJay for night three of
@taylorswift13
in Tampa. Three-day total for Swift: 206,459.

Pretty sure the Democratic mayor endorsed the Trump and DeSantis-loving candidate you're talking about here. FlaDems should probably address that, too, before taking a victory lap.
The message of tonight is that a Trump and DeSantis-loving candidate can not win in Tampa. This was a loss for Governor DeSantis and a message that rich, radical Republicans can’t buy their way to office in Tampa or even to a runoff.
Just in case you were wondering: Folk keep marching because people still aren't scared to be openly racist. Case in point: white power signs flashed at New Port Richey BLM protesters. More 📷 and context from

just let me cut him in line at

NEW: This morning in Tampa, three students, a worker and alumni plead not guilty to a mix of misdemeanors and felonies they face after protesting DeSantis' DEI policies and demanding a meeting about expanding Black enrollment

@cl_tampabay
And it was wild to chat twice. This one happened between medical exams Croz was getting at UCLA. He always said whatever was on his mind. We didn't always agree, but I appreciated his candor. Hope he truly got to bury the hatchet with his band mates.
Dude, Taylor Swift is doing a 10 minute ballad in the middle of a 45-song stadium show, and the audience is eating it up, singing every word. The star power and craftswomanship is undeniable.
JFC nothing like loading the first half of the story with police reports then burying anecdotes about his generosity and struggle in the lower third. And we wonder why people think legacy media has a problem perpetuating bad narratives about drug abuse and who gets arrested.

Taylor Swift wrapped a sold-out, three-night stand in Tampa on Saturday. Here's my review. Catch me asleep until my three-year-old's soccer game at nine in the morning. Had a great time this weekend.

Yup, weeks later, sorry she got caught. Just imagine had the tip not found Justin who kept pressing even after PCSO couldn't find the video. Imagine how many other traffic stops involving cops go this way.
Good get
@JustinGarciaFL
. Weeks later: "I'm very remorseful that this incident ever occurred, and I've personally called the PCSO offering to pay for any potential citation."
So grateful to still have a job, and I really miss my coworkers. Please try and take care of each other even more than you already do, so much hurt and uncertainty out there.

's position (we still haven't—someone please give us money!), candidates asked if we were looking for "another Justin." I replied, "no, we're not, but you need to be willing to dig in." This is what I meant.
Here's part of that Aug. 8 St. Pete Beach commissioners meeting where city leaders lamented houseless folks taking the free SunRunner to the beach. Now the popular service could start charging a fare
A close friend of mine who I hadn't seen since pre-COVID days asked to meet because he had tell me something. Thought the worst, but he actually wanted to tell me he bought an engagement ring. We talked over a beer in the Water Works lawn. Felt nice.
Downtown Tampa’s objectively—and symbolically—ugly ‘Back the Blue’ street mural is now even more illegible now that someone spilled red and black paint on it.
Waiting to see if The City of Tampa wants to say anything but if past response to white supremacy is any indication, I don't know how much this graf will change.
Sen. Janet Cruz—whose daughter is partner to Smith's boss, Tampa Mayor Jane Castor—struck a different tone and wrote, "Words have power and we will NOT accept this in our backyard. All of us must stand up and make clear that we reject this bigoted display"
Tampa was founded on diversity and inclusion and I’ll be dammed if Nazis and Proud Boys waltz through our City and spew such repulsive speech. Words have power and we will NOT accept this in our backyard. All of us must stand up and make clear that we reject this bigoted display.
Lots of reporters been poking around TPD for the John Ring Jr./Gio Fucarino biz, and I just got a 6/16/23, $58 records request back. Not related to Fucarino, but apparently there was a situational awareness memo that went out in email re: this March protest
Sick of watching him kick their ass, the Tampa Bay Times has wised up and made
@JustinGarciaFL
an offer he won’t refuse. That means
@cl_tampabay
is hiring again. Will drop deets on the job, but I'm proud of—and grateful for—the work JG did in this shop.
Dear Tampa Bay bands: Please reply or RT with links to all your merch/music which people can buy as gifts. I want to do a local music gift guide. Any additional insight into the best way to help your band is useful, too. Thanks for any help, and please share!
Well, it's official. We need some serious help. We'll be sharing more links over the next few weeks, but here's an email that went out to

readers today.
The situation at Silver Oaks Apartments in Tampa is completely unacceptable.
Today, I am calling on
@HUDgov
Secretary
@mlfudge
to take federal action to ensure that safe, sanitary housing is available for all Floridians. Low-income housing should NOT mean sub-standard housing.
Winn-Dixie, where I signed up for a waste protocol list, just called to say it had a canceled appt. I was there in less than 10 minutes and now am waiting to get my first Moderna vaccine shot. 🤞🤞

who just stopped me in the parking lot, introduced herself, and asked, "Are you every gonna write a nice thing about me? I'm a person!"
We did in past races (), but this one's different. Looking forward to that coffee though.
Reps for Taylor Swift told
@cl_tampabay
that there are 68,517 fans at Raymond James tonight. Sounds about right. Literally sounds that loud in between songs. There's a mom and daughter here next to us, and they're so sweet that it's making me almost tear up.

This is what Florida's Tampa Bay looks like as Hurricane Ian’s counterclockwise winds blow the water out to sea. The bay is now less than a foot deep in some areas, but the water will eventually return and could rise dangerously quickly in minutes.
Hey Tom,
@CROWBARLIVE
are you able to share the communications you've had with
@GovRonDeSantis
about the situation you outline here? Would like to know how receptive his office has been and how it's reacted.
Big scoop from
@JustinGarciaFL
, who's been chasing this video ever since getting a tip that Tampa Police Chief Mary O'Connor was caught asking a Pinellas sheriff who pulled her and her husband over, "I'm hoping that you'll just let us go tonight."
"VICE News found that all 12 citations Florida presents against the use of gender-affirming care are either distorted or from a source with clear anti-trans bias."
Yo, so
@TampaFireRescue
had its computers taken off trucks with the promise of new technology. It's been five years, and firefighters have had to use literal paper maps to get to a call. WTF. It's against city policy for a city employee to use a cell phone in city vehicle.
