12-year-old Carlos Cyrus & 10-year-old Amorior Cyrus have been missing since October 19. They were last seen at their school - the Louise Bennett- Coverley All Age in Gordon Town, St. Andrew wearing khaki uniforms. If seen call the Papine Police at 876-927-2047 or 119.

Nothing "petty" about it, in my view. And in the US, at least, it is certainly a policy issue. Many political leaders are struggling with it. How they react, how they handle it at a personal level even, is important.
Omicron is in many workplaces now, including government offices. People who could be working at home are obliged to go into office, now coming home and giving it to their entire families. No one is talking about this. Why was the WFH order lifted just as 4th wave was starting?!
A journalist is badgering the CMO to find out where the deceased lived - I applaud the PS comments on stigma and discrimination. Why do we actually need to know? Why does media want to zoom in on a specific community? I don’t like this. TVJ has done it twice now...
I am sick and tired of people calling every new Government program as a “PR stunt.” What is this? Firstly, you cannot make a new project such as Jamaica Moves, the plastic ban etc, without advertising it. Secondly, you need to educate yourselves on what PR actually is. 1/2
I just saw a TV report that a St Bess farmer is going to get a donkey to transport his goods, which the Prime Minister himself had promised him! Are we in 2023?! 🙁 Shall I laugh or cry?
The Alorica débacle is a result of the PM attempting to “balance” economic considerations with public health, under pressure from private sector and earlier on from the travel/tourism industry. The virus doesn’t care about “balance” - fix the virus first!!
Happy Anniversary to us! Relaxing in Portland... (and this was on my birthday a few years back, when a turtle came up to lay her eggs on the beach, during dinner...) Thank you for this photo

Happy birthday to my dearest husband, the best in the world. This is an old pic from our son’s graduation but I love it because my lovely mother in law is in it. She has just had a major stroke. Love them both so much.

Our son called today to wish N a Happy Fathers Day, and reminded us that it was our wedding anniversary. We had forgotten! 32 years married, 37 years together... Time flies.
Jamaica’s education system needs a thorough shake-up. Young people are still not being taught to ask questions. They are not at school or university to be spoon-fed and regurgitate. They are there to ask questions. But it’s convenient to have citizens who just follow along.
HELP KEVIN RESTORE DREAMS Kevin is a soft spoken gentleman who was paralyzed by a stray bullet on the street as a teenager. He is very positive, however. He is writing a story about his life. He needs support. Even a few dollars would help! Pls share.
BREAKING OVERNIGHT: The Jamaica Progressive Party (JPP)🟪 has announced that it will not be contesting the September 3 General Elections but will "continue to serve...[by] building representation in all parishes." 🗳

Very good feedback and information from the nurse working in the field re: contact tracing. What a lot of work! Kudos to those workers!

Angry tweets about windscreen wipers are not necessarily a reflection of "privilege" (a word often wielded as a weapon to discredit such complaints). They emanate from the experience of verbal/physical threats. Especially women drivers who suffer.
Mr Seaga sounds a touch confused and ill informed at times. I don’t agree with his suggestion of “malice.” A little out of his depth on the IC issue?

@MayorWilliamsJA
Why?
The CMO's explanations are increasingly detailed, informative and very clear! "We have to manage ourselves as if everyone around us is positive." She is still saying around 1/2 million could be affected (the MAJORITY with mild/minimal symptoms).

Indeed there are! What’s the point? Forwarding WhatsApp messages you don’t know the source of that you cannot verify? Are we that stupid? Let’s focus our energies on supporting our health workers! Please.
I don't know their names, but they have families and friends and colleagues. My deepest condolences to all those who are grieving for the NINE people who died from

Prof Figueroa thinks there’s “too much focus” on vaccine hesitancy. But there are many people who want the vaccine and can’t get it. Stop beating the drum about hesitancy - too
much focus on “a minority.”

It's fine for people to say that the crime situation is entrenched and won't change. But the fact is - it's GOT to change. We cannot just throw up our hands and say "it's the gangs." Men, women, children are suffering and dying. At least that's the way I see it.
Our son in London tested positive for

this week. He is fully vaxxed (Moderna) and boosted. He's feeling quite tired and has a cough, but nothing major. He is isolating at home for 7 days, a little bored, resting. According to his partner, he has not lost his appetite!
Two men from St James and St Ann and two women from Kingston/St Andrew and St Elizabeth died from

Since the debates are virtual anyway, why can't the two PNP representatives participate from their quarantine spaces? (Sorry if this is a stupid question!)
I don’t understand. If you do your research you will find AstraZeneca is a very effective vaccine. We had minimal side effects. Just get your first dose and get your second when your date comes up. Please.

Why do some media houses characterise the East Portland by-election campaign as a "battleground" and "hand to hand combat" on the streets? There have been two shooting deaths in the town of Port Antonio (normally unheard of). Can we tone down the language please?
There is a narrative that anyone who raises concerns about an issue (be it the environment, human rights, governance) that needs addressing, that person should themselves possess all the answers/solutions to said issue. Otherwise, shut up. It’s an attempt to shut people down. 1/2
A protest took place over the ongoing closure of the famous Blue Lagoon in Portland today. As usual, it is the people of Portland who are left out in the cold. Their livelihoods are in jeopardy, but special interests are quite happy.
Sending many thanks and a big virtual hug to the kind bus driver who helped my dear mother-in-law over the weekend when she missed her stop and got lost and confused. She is in her 90s.

For the 4th consecutive year, a Jamaican has won the Caribbean Regional Prize in the Commonwealth Short Story competition. Kingston-born Kwame McPherson's story is "an interweaving of African American reality and history, and Caribbean folklore."

So he cannot have his own views? I do know that his father always expressed his own thoughts clearly, as a concerned Jamaican who cared about his country. His son is doing likewise. Whether you agree with his views or not is another matter.
So UWI has lost two great scientists in the past few days: Dedicated coral reef scientist Dr Peter Gayle, formerly of Discovery Bay Marine Lab and Retired Prof of Chemistry Tara Dasgupta (who died from complications re: COVID-19). Two awesome and brilliant people.

People are obsessed with spraying chemicals to get rid of mosquitoes. They are not that effective. Just destroy the breeding sites. Besides I understand that mosquitoes have become resistant to at least one of the chemicals.
