Unfortunately, although this would seem such a silly route to this mess, it is a big part of it. At many places in the attack piece, they conflate our critical analysis of some securitization with us stating/endorsing it. Unbelievably basic. How could peer reviewers miss this?

@JarrodNHayes @ole_waever I feel like in some ways, a mistake being made is to blame the theory for the structural racism in society it was observing - that Western societies have securitized ‘outsiders’ often defined along racial lines. But that’s not the theory’s (or authors’s) fault. Am I wrong here?
