The Bennetts British Superbike Championship is deeply saddened to announce the sudden passing of Paul Bird, the Team Owner of Paul Bird Motorsport (PBM), the series’ most successful team.

We are saddened by the news that Paul Smart lost his life in a road traffic collision today while riding his motorcycle
Paul was a hugely popular character in and out of the paddock. He was much loved by his family, friends and fans around the world and our thoughts are with them
20 years ago today, during a BSB event at Silverstone, news filtered through that Joey Dunlop had been killed in an accident in a road race in Estonia. “Legend” is a much overused word, particularly in sport, but if there was one man throughly deserving of that moniker its Joey

BSB Medical Team update 🏥
Alex Olsen continues to be kept under observation in hospital and his condition has remained stable. Further tests will be done over the coming days to clarify if an operation is needed but he is comfortable and expected to make a good recovery.
