Really sorry guys, I can't really sub in for this game against
@VegasEternal
cause I am not on a player contract.
We signed actual players to be our subs ๐

ears are not pulled back, tails are in normal positions, no one has hair standing up or buckles and they are taking turns "attacking" so thats just play dw!
Small life update:
Having to write this shatters my heart, but yesterday was officially my last day with
@Cloud9
.
I have spent 6 years, most of my professional career, here at my dream job working with esports talent and seeing them grow while I and the company grew with them.
This is what I teased the last few days, hope you guys bare with me on this project, ITS HUUUGE.
There will be a follow-up podcast with
@Hangar9
in a bit where I touch more on the topic at large!
I really hate doing this, but I understand that many people are upset at the latest signing I did for Spitfire.
I expected plenty of negative feedback and I will own up to it and take it in, but this is a bit much, isn't it? Hypocrite and flat-out disgusting.
Just putting this out there:
If any OWL team wants serious advice on how to properly support marginalized genders and develop them to be in Contenders and OWL please reach out I am happy to give it after working in VAL GC for multiple years.
I remember last year when he was asking me for "the gif that they made of me at Gamescom" cause he wanted to impress a girl and he said "I still look young and handsome in this".
I dug it up out of the depths of Twitter and sent it to him.
We will never forget you Dennis ๐
Talked about this privately a lot with people after hearing about it and this thread sums up most of my thoughts on it.
Its a REALLY bad idea. There is simply not enough talent yet to be a serious competitor or development team. Better invest in a CAH team instead.
If any esports org is interested in dipping their toes into EMEA Overwatch I am happy to help build and run a team for you ๐
I have over 6 years of experience in the EU Overwatch scene
Since I am leveling up today (29) I wanted to share some positive vibes. ๐ฅณ
It's still hard for me to show the old pics, but I am very thankfull for all of you who supported me over the last 2 years. Much love to everyone in these difficult times, help each other and be kind ๐
Big thanks to everyone who stuck around today, who watched, supported, came onto the cast and helped to make this event as beautiful as it was. It was very hard for us but we left a great memory of a dear friend out in the ocean that is called the internet, may it never die! โค๏ธ
Posting a small thread as it seems necessary after the uproar around the whole "
@ATLReign
blacklisted us" narrative to clarify things from our perspective.
I personally enjoy the term "Team Mom" no matter if it's a female or male team manager.
It's not to slam a stereotype on someone or reduce females to that, for me its more about highlighting the supportive and caring nature that most of us managers have towards our players ๐
Hiring
@ChrisTFerOW
was the best decision I ever made for this team. His dream was to make a team London would be proud of and I think he def archived that. I am so glad that I was able to have him around for these years ๐
@OW_ICED
in the current state of the scene, it would do more harm than good. Just putting women into the highest league for visibility when they are not ready skill-wise just puts them in the spotlight for the wrong reasons. This has to be a slower process as of right now.
OW T2 Players: "Its impossible to get recognized, the path to pro is flawed, no team wants to trial me"
Also, players: -continue to spam, troll and ping people randomly on official tournament discord servers, even after getting told not to-
Thank you everyone for sticking this season out with us. I have learned a lot about being a GM and I am happy to have
@SparkR_OW
@ShaxOW
@CommanderX
and
@Coach_Spilo
with me for another year and stay on the project.
Farewells are never easy and we wish all of our departures nothing but the best. ๐
It's been a tough year, both in and out of Overwatch. To you, the fans, thank you for sticking by us through it all. We will build back stronger, you can count on it! See you in 2022!

๐ฉ
No joke tho,
So proud of
@Spitfire
.
Since everyone has been here in LA, they have shown iron mental even tho we were regarded as one of the lowest teams.
Everyone took it as motivation and bought into what
@ChrisTFerOW
@CommanderX
and
@Coach_Spilo
are teaching and it shows!
Big thanks to all of you guys you have been cheering for
@Spitfire
all year long.
It was a wild ride this season after what went down last year and I couldn't be more proud of every single player and staff that worked on this team.
More later ๐๐งก๐ฉ๏ธ
Tough loss for us, but nothing to be ashamed of.
We made LAN after improving a ton from last stage, we were positive throughout and delivered good matches against all 3 teams.
Couldnt close it out today, but the grind doesnt stop. We will be back! I am proud of
@Spitfire
Offseason thoughts for coaching staff in OW wanting to join OWL:
- have realistic expectations when looking for a team. Most coaching staff consist of a head coach and 1-3 assistant coaches or analysts so the field is competitive.
Very happy to have him on the team! Loved working with Kaan during the last world cup in 2019, he was very talented back then and just grew so much from there on out.
He is joining us in LA to train with the squad~
Not gonna lie. This video made me tear up every time I reviewed it internally.
This squad was the essence of why I love working with players and coaches so much. ๐ฉต
Sorry to fans that we can't give you better news at this time. Please still support the boys playing in OWWC ๐
Not sure what else to say but thanks.
To the fans, for showing so much love and support especially during playoffs.
To the players&coaches for giving it their all day after day to improve and turn this season around.
I couldn't be more happy and proud over these last 2 years
This farewell is the start of our new journey ๐๐งก
Thank you for the love, the support, and for always believing in us no matter what. We couldn't have made it this far without you!
I personally believe in people being capable of change, you can call it naive if you want. I have been following prov1de's progress for the last 2 years and spoke to him and even the league about it often. I believe in the choice I made and in the work, he has put in.
It took a good bunch of grinding but I am happy I hit level 30 today. I AM OLD NOW.
This IRL game is really improving every year for me personally and I am really happy where I am right now thanks to my friends and co-workers ๐ฅณ
Leave me suggestions on what cake I should get!
Such a great event.
#VCTGameChangers
was super special to me. Not only was this the first time being with the team for 2 full weeks, but I was also meeting so many old friends and made tons of new ones.
Thanks to everyone who was working this event and making it special ๐
What a crazy game! GGs
@ATLReign
We clutched at the end of qualifiers, sadly couldnt make it to Dallas but I am super proud of the team.
Everyone predicted us last but we did our own thing and slammed.
@Spitfire
stonks are rising!
#OWL2022
#AcesHigh
Imho, this is a clear miscommunication from both ends and I am sorry that people are giving
@Selfless_Brad
and the Reign such a hard time with this.
I hope this clears things up and we can improve communication from both ends in the future.
Mentioned in slack that
@VulcanLoL
looks like a mafia boss in his picture displayed during the
@LCSOfficial
draft.
@Linku
gives me this, he is the best person ever.
Just to be transparent,
you guys will likely see DPS players rotate between
@Hurricane
and
@Spitfire
. This is to ensure that the players that might not be utilized in the meta of the current tournament can still practice with our Academy teams and stay fresh.
@EiyaWoW
Was working on my Bachelor of Education (elementary school teacher) before starting my career in esports.
Now working as a team manager, which is basically the same thing sometimes ๐คก
Always makes me so sad to see how people on social bash a player just because it isnt their favorite player in the position. Teams are doing trials and put in work, not just throwing a dart at a board.
Daan put it pretty well a while ago and it is sad to see fans devalue
@Soembie
@Totalbiscuit
No one should get those kinds of messages. You were right on point with that! It's about lending each other a hand and changing lives together, a two way street of respect and appreciation for each other no matter what gender~
This game was so hype. When you look at our opening match against
@SFShock
in comparison we are matching them. A mere few fights away from taking the maps we lost.
So proud of my
@Spitfire
boys, off to the lower bracket to knock out some teams
@GetAmazed_ow
Amaz, you have to understand that as a public-facing team staff, especially as GM, you are repping the org.
People will link what you say publically to how you operate things in your team. It's on you to understand that and have foresight.
That tweet was just not it.
Not me sitting in my hotel room ugly crying reading through all of my friends and colleagues tweets and shared memories of this wonderful experience that was
@overwatchleague
the past 6 years ๐ญ
Thank you so much to everyone I saw this week and everyone that came up the last 2 days to congratulate the team, I am not used to it and way too emotional.
This means the world to me to see my boys do so well!
Off to another great year with
@Spitfire
#OWLGrandFinals
#OWL2022
@Reinforce
The only thing I promised fans so far was that I am not planning to recruit
@BrenCasts
and
@SideshowGaming
as the tank line...
So this is in the realm of possibility still! ๐
Hey, Overwatch community!
I know our
@Spitfire
announcements didn't tickle all your guys' fancy. So I would like to test out a different approach for our brand new
@Hurricane
roster!
We have been working hard to get this roster together so I hope you will like this one:
Hey, look, it's me!
4 years went by a lot faster than I expected. Especially the last 2 when I was working out of LA. I am very thankful to be part of
@Cloud9
- Hopefully to many more years ๐ฅณ
One thing many people might find minor but would bring the whole "women in esports" conversation forward by a lot would be adjusting how you ask questions in press conferences and interviews.
Please don't default to the "As a female team, ..." just ask the question.
Very excited to have Chris on the team for next year. He gathered so much experience under some great head coaches in the league and I am happy he wants to make the jump to head coach himself with Spitfire ๐
Awesome first week of Stage 2 - So happy with the team's progress!
Big shoutout to all players for having the mental fortitude after being placed bottom team in pre-season and especially to the great coaching staff this year
@ChrisTFerOW
@CommanderX
and
@Coach_Spilo
Its time for the next
#VCT
Qualifier!
Our girls from
@Cloud9
Valorant White will be on stream for their first match against EDO TENSEI!
Watch it live here:
Earlier this month was my 3 year anniversary working for
@Cloud9
- the past year in the US as a full time employee.
I've grown so much over that period working my dream job and getting healthier!
Thank you to all my Co-workers and friends who taught me so much along the way ๐ฅฐ
Taking
@LAGladiators
to map 5 in the
@SteelSeries
event is something we can be happy with.
Couldn't close it out, but we have plenty of time to improve even more!
Super proud of the boys ๐ฅณ
#AcesHigh
Our last scrim with them was a few months ago while in process of relocating our last player, SparkR, to NA. It was already a tense situation from our end between issues asking for maps and players swapping to what we saw as "random" heroes.
My vocal cords are totally fried from karaoke yesterday, was a great night to end the trip tho.
Thank you friends ๐ฅฐ
@Spitfire
is at the airport and on our way home back to LA. Thanks for having us
@overwatchleague
I echoed this in so many interviews this season, but I say it again.
Chris was the best pickup I made this season.
Seeing him grow from an assistant coach into the head coach role was just amazing this year.
So proud of him!!!
Ich werde mich, wie letztes Jahr, wieder als Kandidatin fรผr die General Manager Position aufstellen lassen. In meinen 1 1/2 Jahren bei
@Hurricane
habe ich viel gelernt und werde mein Bestes tun um das Team dieses Jahr zur Blizzcon zu schicken!
Do you guys think the Spitfire guys will be mad at me if I download Diablo 4 Beta in the office during our warmup? Surely it will not affect their ping that much
