Congratulations to our outgoing Chair,
@msletsike
, who has been sworn in as a Member of Parliament for the ANC in South Africa! 🇿🇦 As a proud lesbian, her representation is monumental. We're confident she'll be a powerful voice for LGBTI+ people in SA and the Commonwealth!
Goodbye my SANAC family
What a privilege I’ve had for 20 yrs to have served. For 20yrs, I served as the leader of the Womens Sector, the leader of the LGBTI Sector, and of the last 12yrs I served as the Chairperson of National Civil Society Forum.
Let me make myself clear.
No body is entitled to question the existance of LGBTIQ persons!
People should stop questioning humanity, and just live.
No African LGBTIQ identifying person, should be subjected to any kind of oppression by anyone in this region. It is a violation.

Diseases are causing suffering& inequity across the world,to people’s bodies, livelihoods, spirits& emotional wellbeing. We are only as strong as the most vulnerable in our community, now it is imperative for us to decolonize from individualism& reconnect with ways of community care
Cry our beloved Uganda.
This draconian law is unnecessary 😒
What a sad moment for Africa.

We must note the dangers of Parliaments sponsored homophobia and transphobia! When policy makers abuse their power to promote hate, divide citizens and create unnecessary laws.

We can do both intro NHI and fix the health system.
1. Deal with corruption
2. Employ more people
3. Community system is critical
4. Hold Management accountable

I am Steve Letsike, Executive Director of Access Chapter 2, where we provide free health services to LGBTI in SA. I also chair the common wealth equality network, where we fight for decriminalisation of homosexuality act. My focus in health is policy transformation.
5. It’s commonly assumed that God destroyed Sodom & Gomorrah out of his wrath against same-sex relations, but the only form of same-sex behavior described in the story is an attempted gang rape — nothing like a loving, committed relationship.

9.From the beginning of Genesis, human beings are described as having a need for relationship, just as God himself is relational.Sexuality is a core part of what it means to be relational, & to condemn LGBT people’s sexuality damages the ability to be in relationship & with God.
10. Faithful Christians are already embracing LGBT brothers and sisters. Mainstream denominations like Presbyterians and Episcopalians now ordain openly gay clergy, and there are seeds of change in evangelical churches as well.

Many Christians draw on their faith’s traditions to shape their beliefs. Christian want to place same-sex people in the same category with gluttony or evil,as a vice of excess anyone might be prone to,not as the expression of a sexual orientation
