Russia puts its military second behind its citizens. Ukraine is likely preparing to blow up a dam upstream of Kherson. Russia has prioritised evacuating civilians over resupply of its own troops, as they all use the same roads and bridges. Ukraine is shelling the civilians.
@MyLordBebo
After Russia's bullseye strike on the Military academy yesterday, I'd resign. No way I would want to be sitting in the Verkhovna Rada, especially if my dear leader is trying to hit targets inside Russia, as I'd quite correctly anticipate getting a retaliatory swat from the Bear.
@CheburekiMan
I am 100% sure, Russian subs lie off the coast of the US, Alaska, Canada, UK every single day, completely undetected. This ones presence has been openly declared, just to rattle the can.
@DravenNoctis
Russia could have destroyed every railway hub, border crossing, the Kiev reservoir, all major bridges. This would have bought Ukraine to its knees in a few weeks, regardless of NATO support. But the civilian toll would have been catastrophic. Russia still plays nicely.
@IuliiaMendel
He is Mr. Zelensky, on Ukrainian TV around 8 years ago. What is he finding so funny ? He has water. He is celebrating Ukraine cutting off the water to Crimea. It seems nothing is new in the world of war..
My old mate will cross the bridge tomorrow. Lymphoma. Last week we went for a drive around the East Forest Block, once his favourite walk. He still enjoyed the ride, checked out the rabbits. He cant stand now without assistance. Goodbye my old friend.
The UK says the Falkland Is. are British. Not because of conquest. But because that's how the people of the Is. have voted. The UN charter says that self determination is a basic right. Why then does the UK not support Crimea, Donbas etc to have self determination ?
@GraphicW5
No one in Russia trusts the west enough to think sanctions will e v e r be lifted. And as 88% of the worlds population havent joined in, I daresay Russia will simply continue to look beyond the west for its future.
22 days of peace, kindergartens, yoga, meditation, song, dance friendship and humanity. The first to blink & use violence was Jacinda. We have found your defining moment. Dont panic cindy. There was no fire. But you just lit one. I look forward to seeing how history remembers you
@Zlatti_71
Stocks of these bombs are enormous. They have been in constant production for 7 decades. Russia could drop hundreds a day for 20 years and not need to make any more. But they are making more.
@MelaniePodolyak
War is always terrible. Ukraine signed Minsk I and II. Had Ukraine been an honourable country, and kept its word, and kept clear of NATO then this war would never have happened. The 2014 coup, and the subsequent junta never gave Ukraine a chance though.
@RealKhairullin
No amount of hard evidence will matter to the west. They killed a million civilians in Iraq, (half of them children) and never blinked. Russia will have to deal with this as a domestic criminal matter once Ukraine is demilitarised.
I find it almost unbelievable that the Russians who liberated Auschwitz, and who's citizens often filled it, are now unable to go to its Liberation ceremony. But those who built it, and ran it are welcome. Bit by bit, the west is losing its way. It maybe too late to be saved.
@Spriter99880
300 km range. Google says that would be around twice the distance NATO air to air missiles can do.? So how will an F16 help ? It can be shot down 100km before it has any Russian aircraft in range.
If we are really the good guys, the free, open democratic west, and Russia is really the bad guy, why have we gone to so much trouble to restrict Russian media ? Why are we so scared of hearing Russia's side of the story that government have removed Russia Today from our TV ? ๐ค
If Maori, or anyone else for that matter, don't like the idea of living in a democracy, where all are treated equally under law, and our welfare and health systems respond to need, not race, then they should pack their bags and leave.
@coughlthom
If the jab works, and you have had it what do you fear from the unjabbed ? If the jab doesn't work, what purpose does forcing it onto the unwilling serve ?
Does any really believe that a gang associate randomly broke into the Auckland police station, and of all the things he could steal, he randomly searched a rubbish bin to find 4000 sensitive documents, giving the gang a comprehensive firearms shopping list ?
@chrisluxonmp
The protest was 100% violence free for 22 days, with exceptions only when the Police caused violence. What is different today ? Nothing. There was no violence until Police arrived and and caused violence. Its on your head Luxon as the apparent deputy leader of the Labour party.
@McFaul
Its a good system. Zelensky has locked up all the opposition parties that had any show of defeating him. Keeps the outcome nice and clear, he is the only one that can win, so no point rigging the vote.
My Dad is Russian. (Slavic). My Mum is a Kiwi. She had Romanian Mum (Roma) , Scottish Dad (Celtic) and Maori Grandad. What race am I ? (No links to videos, this is science.) Tell me my race, and why it changes my access to health and democracy.
Follow the money. There is absolutely NOTHING in the 3 waters plan that will save money. It enables more debt for the water companies, it enables a well paid layer of Iwi and Managers. But it does not make pipes or treatment plants cheaper to make or maintain. YOU WILL STILL PAY!
@CheburekiMan
None of Americas wars on countries they claimed had weapons of mass destruction happened because the accused actually had weapons of mass destruction. They happened because they didn't have them.
So, if it turns out Mallard didnt have his legal ducks in a row when he closed parliaments grounds and trespassed the protesters, that would mean every single subsequent use of force was unlawful. So did he have his ducks in a row ? There was no emergency. No violence. Uh-Oh.
@DagnyTaggart369
This is why Russia will no longer take Euros, Dollars or Pounds for its oil. It knows that the west will simply print the money it needs, without actually producing any goods or services to back it up. A Ruble linked to gold, gas and has a certain special quality all of its own.
@Ukraine66251776
Russia should also ignore the IP rights of countries that have stolen from it. They could then make pharmaceuticals, software, electronic chips etc without paying royalties. The pharmaceuticals in particular would save millions of lives in the third world, its win win.
@GabeZZOZZ
Americans are so used to losing wars to people that cant strike them back, that they have lost the ability to think through what losing a war to people that can strike them back would look like.
@TVajrayana
Some Ukrainian channels are claiming 100% air defense success. But there are plenty of images of major explosions all over Ukraine. Pavlograd appears to have been particularly hard hit, a troop train which also carried ammunition may have been vaporised.
@narrative_hole
But they have made some gains. If averaged over the entire 1000km front, Ukraine has captured a little over 6 metres. If they get another 6 metres its almost enough to build a garage.
@actparty
@Parmjeet_Parmar
We had a great marketing advantage. GMO free Islands, potentially the worlds only GMO uncontaminated food provider. A niche provider of products for the super wealthy. Thrown away so we can do low end mass production just like everyone else. A great opportunity squandered.
@copemuch
New Zealanders are there. A body bag from Ukraine caused the Ministry of Defence some embarrassment, as the occupant was a currently serving NZ soldier. They said he must have been on holiday as they knew noting about it. Lots more NZ soldiers are there.
@StormTorx
Ukraine sources seem to be insisting its a legitimate target, as it was carrying weapons. Its a tanker, no way it was carrying weapons. But if the precedent is set, will it now be OK for Russia to sink the ships carrying tanks, Bradleys, shells, oil etc to Ukraine. ?
@WarMonitors
Does this mean my inheritance payment from Nigerian Prince Olorunwa Abbas might be delayed? I already sent him the transfer fee, I hope his deal with Dr Okeke for the diamonds went OK.
@carlbildt
The people of Crimea, DPR LPR etc have made it clear, they don't want to be second class citizens in Europe's poorest most corrupt country. Let them be. Let them have their freedom.
@OrestZub
We will see Ukraine landlocked, with Odessa part of Russia. The Baltics will be overrun and become part of Kaliningrad. Ukraine will be demilitarised, and the few forces it has will be more concerned about Poland than Russia.
@talkrealopinion
The drones are a catch 22. They are worth very little and RU has limitless supply. So do you fire an expensive missile at them when you are short of missiles ? Do nothing = they reach their target. They are slow, so a jet trying to shoot them down with cannon may crash the jet.
Kids should go to school with a decent lunch provided by parents. Those that dont have lunch should be provided it at school, but parents should be billed for it, with automatic deduction from parents income for non payers.
@WillieJLabour
They don't want to renegotiate the treaty. They just want it honoured. In particular, they point at article i, where both translations agree, the Crown governs. Then they like article iii where Maori get the rights and OBLIGATIONs of the Crowns subjects. 'We are now one people'
@CheburekiMan
The west has a stranglehold on its media, so it only hears its own point of view. Its an echo chamber, that reinforces its erroneous self belief that its the good guy, and is moral and courageous. But 80% and more of the world aren't in the echo chamber. They watch, they know.
@radionz
No evaluation of RNZ could conclude it is NOT government funded. Nor could evaluation find RNZs editorial content to be free of political slant, invariably of benefit to the government. Get rid of your political material altogether, then make your case. Else leave.
$43.5 Million budget, and two years to build a Roundabout. They are taking the mickey. Seriously, its two orders of magnitude more than it should cost, and 22 months longer than it should take. Russia built the Crimean bridge in 24 months. We are really being taken for a ride.
@NMadeinNZ
Its only allowed to hunt them at the hairdressers, the gym and the pub. Its not allowed in the supermarket, the park, streets, the petrol station (who goes there anyway?) or Parliament grounds.

Shaun.. you are notable for your poor understanding of history here. Stalin was not Russian he was Georgian. The USSR was as much Ukrainian as Russian. It had senior Ukrainian leadership, military commanders. Anything you accuse the USSR of, falls on the shoulders of Ukraine.
@conspiracytalk9
The highest vax rate has unsurprisingly driven the highest infection rate. "Stuff" dont appear to be doing this chart anymore. They abandoned it when it showed clear antibody dependent enhancement, making the vaxxed more likely to get covid.
Malvinas are Argentina. Should Russia send Argentina the tanks, jets, missiles and rocket systems it needs to finally evict the British garrison from the Malvinas ? Should Russia send nukes there to deter future British aggression ?

NZ First certainly seem to be able to find the right words to get the pearl clutching left white knuckled. Entirely sensible statements. Mr Jones will be a safe pair of hands for NZF leadership when required.
@thelastmalakai
An NZ woman has half her face missing from bone cancer, and they tell her there is no money to fix her with a basic op. Then they give away cars +++ for people to get jabbed. They don't care about the small people and never have. There is a bigger agenda.. never trust them.
@anders_aslund
Times have changed Anders. Well, not for NATO, they still have the same old anti ship missiles they had in the 1970's/80's. But Russia now has a brand new array of anti ship missiles, against which NATO defences will struggle. To put it another way, NATO wont do it as it cant.
@vicktop55
The west has become totally reliant on GPS, on wideband data & voice, on connectivity & data driven 'situational awareness'. In a real conflict it will be sextant, map & compass, low speed data/voice over HF radio, and situational awareness will be looking out the window.
@chrisluxonmp
I hate gangs with a passion. But this is a clear breach of the Bill of Rights. If you cant be trusted in that space, you cant be trusted at all. If I am on a jury, and Police have made any arrests under these provisions, I will hang the Jury. The Bill of Rights takes precedence.

There were two choices here, both were freely available. Yet for no obvious reason they chose to force the option that was not suitable for the parents. There was no need to do that, its just abusive use of the states power. I pray no harm comes to baby as the result of this.
@HuntressHusky
@Retiremyass
This. Its a quite credible threat, well within Ukraines technological capability. So instant denial without any effort to look and see is a great big red flag.
@McFaul
Yesterday you were whinging that the Russians had turned all the lights off. Now they are providing plenty of light and you are still whinging. Heres the rub though. The biggest war criminal in the history of the world is the USA, aided by NATO. So no one listens to you.
Ukrainians need to wake up. There is NO return to full electricity supply possible. The water, the sewerage, the stormwater, telecoms, everything is going to fail. Any electric supply that is returned will be for a few minutes or hours at a time. This is NOT going to be solved.
@thereadymix
I judge people by their character, not by the colour of their skin. But if they judge themselves or others by skin colour, then I know all I need to know about their character.
@ShangguanJiewen
China has always been quite happy to buy US tech at the market rate. But they aren't going to stop manufacturing just because the US squawks out crazy sanctions. They can, will and have simply made their own. So when the sanctions are dropped who will buy the US product?
If it takes a tow truck half an hour to hook up a vehicle, tow it to impound and return, but another protestors vehicle can fill the spot in 30 seconds who will win the battle of tow truck hill ? (asking for a few thousand friends.)

This is why you europeans were so easily led to the holocaust. You have an incredible ability to ignore your own crimes, then project your hate onto others, unhesitatingly badging all that look like those you hate, as those you hate.
@chrisluxonmp
"impinging on other peopleโs daily lives" What the hell do you think vax passports are all about ? They are the ultimate impingment on the right to decide what you will, and wont do with your own body.
@AMK_Mapping_
The Kursk offensive was a gamble that Russians would take their foot off the gas in DPR to maintain reputation in Kursk. It looks like the Russians didn't take the bait. So they gain advantage in DPR instantly, and will turn Kursk into a deadly tarpit over the next year.
@kiwigirl888
I pick Jacinda. Cos if I ask a hard question, she will retreat to the corner. And if she asks me a question I can simply refute it. But most of all, I get points from the rest of the world, for keeping her in a room away from them for a week. Thats got to be worth another $100M
@madmanchap
No one is questioning their right to exist. You made that up. What is questioned is should men with lipstick on shower with my 8 year old girl at the swimming pool, compete in womens sports, or be locked up in womens prisons ? But you shouted down the questions so you could lie.
Ukrainian S300 airdefense missile misses its target and hits civilians in Poland. Is this an attach on NATO? Will they now declare war on Ukrainian Nazis?
Is this racist ? I dont think so. It may imply ignorance of Mahutuas culture. But in most parts of the world, for most people, facial tattoos are both uncommon, and associated with criminality.
If I come over for the freedom camping and festival at Parliament, are Police still offering the free parking at the Cake tin ? Do they operate a shuttle to the party cos I have a BBQ and a guitar? TIA Larry
I sincerely believe the French made a calculated & deliberate attack on Women, Christianity, & Family with the Olympic opening ceremony. I can't understand any motive for that except the influence of pure evil, that is now so confident of ascendancy it openly displays itself.
@CheburekiMan
If I pay my boy $20 to clean my car, then I charge him $20 for board, the accounts tell us our household expenditure for the day was $40. Russia spends all its money at home, for the benefit of the state, not foreign shareholders. Its real costs are therefore even less.
@squatsons
To have been launched from Ukraine, these drones would have flown hundreds of km over other countries. Lithuania Latvia, Estonia are therefore in the loop, or Belarus's airspace was violated. More likely they were launched from Estonia. Either way its a significant escalation.
@tauhenare
Why do you post in English? It seems to me that you are part of the problem, not part of the solution. If you want to be taken seriously as an advocate for Te Reo, please make all your posts in Te Reo. Otherwise no one will take you seriously.
@ChuckPfarrer
Russia hasnt bombed Kievs bridges, water, sewerage treatment systems, telecoms. They have left the electricity on. If the war descends to on civilian infrastructure, Russia has a target rich environment. Be a cold winter in Kiev with no electric, petrol, water or sewers.
@Spriter99880
Yet another geopolitical reason for Russia to refuse any peace deals that leave Ukraine in any way viable. It needs to be broken up into a dozen small countries, all demilitarised, and protected by Russian troops.
Russia is crystal clear. NATO cant keep on supplying weapons without eventually finding Russia draws NATO blood : โThe line between indirect and direct involvement is gradually disappearing,โ Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov
@LloydBurr
Its business reality, that if you don't meet the needs of your customer, you will go broke. Labours PIJF is the root cause. Even though it was chump change, it was enough for MSM to miss-identify the Government as their customer, and to turn on their real customer, Joe Public.
@UgStereo
Russians are slow to saddle up. They look for every excuse not to, and to tolerate the other guys game. But once they do saddle up, its all over for the bad guy. Russia has a saddle on only a couple of horses now. They will see how that goes, looks like it may be quite adequate.
@SpencerGuard
I think so. Russia won that, and the war rapidly started to go the Russians way. I think Ukraine is now making excuses about its poor performance, blaming weather etc. Echos of the German 6th army at Stalingrad. The real reason is that Russia didnt just leave this time.
@AZgeopolitics
Its not up to the UK anyway. Russia and Russia alone will determine if Russia treats these as dirty nuclear weapons. And they do. Thus the door is now open for a Russian nuclear response, especially as its intended to use these weapons in Russia against Russia.
Dominion Post rang me up offer subscription. I can get 'all the news from 400 unbiased journalists' she said. I asked what she thought of the riots in Holland, their police shooting at unarmed people, & empty shops. She said "I hadn't heard about it !". I said "Yep. No sale."
@IuliiaMendel
Go and collect some sticks and twigs and dry grass. Then you can light a wee fire in an old baked bean can and keep warm. You suffer all this because you couldn't keep your word on Minsk agreement.
Stuff & Herald and Newshub struggle to understand what the protesters want. They want the things guaranteed them by the Bill of Rights. Deliver them that, and they will go home.
They ask for nothing more than 11,14,16,17,18,19,20,22. ie most of it.

Xi sat next to Putin nodding his head when Putin called these weapons nuclear based. Xi has in the past called them dirty bombs and Russia is already using thosewwords as well. The UK has cracked open the nuclear door.

Russia has honoured all its contracts, paid all its debts, stolen no ones assets, foreign reserves, or gold. Its the west that has weaponised trade and the international financial system, stolen assets and money.
