@DravenNoctis Russia could have destroyed every railway hub, border crossing, the Kiev reservoir, all major bridges. This would have bought Ukraine to its knees in a few weeks, regardless of NATO support. But the civilian toll would have been catastrophic. Russia still plays nicely.

@squatsons To have been launched from Ukraine, these drones would have flown hundreds of km over other countries. Lithuania Latvia, Estonia are therefore in the loop, or Belarus's airspace was violated. More likely they were launched from Estonia. Either way its a significant escalation.

@ChuckPfarrer Russia hasnt bombed Kievs bridges, water, sewerage treatment systems, telecoms. They have left the electricity on. If the war descends to on civilian infrastructure, Russia has a target rich environment. Be a cold winter in Kiev with no electric, petrol, water or sewers.

@UgStereo Russians are slow to saddle up. They look for every excuse not to, and to tolerate the other guys game. But once they do saddle up, its all over for the bad guy. Russia has a saddle on only a couple of horses now. They will see how that goes, looks like it may be quite adequate.

@SpencerGuard I think so. Russia won that, and the war rapidly started to go the Russians way. I think Ukraine is now making excuses about its poor performance, blaming weather etc. Echos of the German 6th army at Stalingrad. The real reason is that Russia didnt just leave this time.

@AZgeopolitics Its not up to the UK anyway. Russia and Russia alone will determine if Russia treats these as dirty nuclear weapons. And they do. Thus the door is now open for a Russian nuclear response, especially as its intended to use these weapons in Russia against Russia.
