@meganalcg I personally am very attracted to men’s hands. And I do not appear to be alone in this. Therefore, to avoid causing women to lust, men should wear gloves at all times. They should definitely never play guitar or any other instrument showcasing their fingering ability.

@AlixEHarrow Oooh, ooh! I love explaining this one. Because in English, the j sound is an affricate, meaning it’s actually two sounds jammed together. The first sound IS the d sound. The second sound is the soft j heard in French (je jure). Say “Jam” and “Djam” and you’ll hear it.

@AlixEHarrow The reason “dragon” sounds like “jragon” is because your mouth naturally makes a soft j sound when it’s passing from the d sound to the English r sound. In both cases, it’s going to sound like /djr/.

I’ve been saying that it’s not even the policies that rural voters are against. Deep-red Idaho is overwhelmingly in favor of expanding Medicaid. It’s a matter of who they’re listening to. It’s a matter of language. Linguistics and politics are deeply linked.

So what's the reason Democrats are losing rural White voters? It's because they aren't talking to rural White voters. Only 36% of rural White voters were contacted this cycle by Democratic Candidates or the Party. In fact, only 50% of rural white voters were contacted by anyone.
