Monad takes a path towards scaling that has never been tried before
By re-designing the EVM, we're able to provide an additional path towards scaling alongside all of the great innovations that currently exist

Honored to share that Monad Labs has raised $225M in funding from
@paradigm
and other leading investors. Thank you for this incredible vote of confidence. 💜
The funding provides our team with ample resources to bring Monad, the Parallel EVM L1 blockchain, to life.

Congrats to the

team on the launch of $W. This is a huge milestone toward decentralization of the network, and marks the beginning of the next phase for the Wormhole effort. Exciting times!

There’s been some recent discussion about execution bottlenecks and gas limits, both for L1 and L2. I'll discuss a few of the bottlenecks below.
1. DA
With the introduction of blob data (EIP-4844), Eth DA has become cheaper than before (because it doesn't have to compete with
Monad is probably best known for its Parallel EVM. However the key to making Parallel EVM actually performant is MonadDb, the Parallel Access Database, which enables high-performance state access with minimal RAM requirements, because the bottleneck is state. Without it, Parallel
Common criteria for nontech web3 hiring (i.e. aside from assessing specifics of person-role fit):

2. Fast/High throughput (look for evidence of this)
3. Hardworking/high agency/accountable (look for evidence of this)
4. Independent
5. Clear/organized communicator

He who owns the customer captures the value
In mature markets, the participant in the stack that is closest to the end user captures the lion's share of the value.
We see it in finance, where brokers (frontends) like Robinhood or eTrade get the first proverbial "bite of the
The Monad community is so grateful to be included in the W airdrop 💜
As one of the first purely off-chain groups to be included in an airdrop, we’re incredibly honored & don’t take it for granted
We look fwd to continuing to bring unparalleled energy, memes & good vibes

Parallel Execution is cool, but it doesn't increase TPS much if your database can't handle it.
MonadDB is a custom state database built from scratch that is optimized for parallel execution.
This is what parallel execution looks like without an optimized custom database.
My hope for 2024 is that eth and solana tribes come together
If that happens crypto will grow much bigger and much faster
Too much time & energy is spent on local wins that don’t matter to the bigger picture:
Adoption on a global scale. 💜
My advice for early-stage founders: anything you do, do well. Quality begets quality.
There is the temptation to think "it's a startup, we just have to move fast and break things". And it's true that you absolutely have to get shit done.
But there are a few factors at play that
I had a good time yesterday debating

It was an interesting discussion that covered a lot of topics related to the importance of decentralization, censorship-resistance, and self-verification. One of the more interesting was around Lei's redefinition of

If I say something dumb/wrong on a panel, my hope is that someone calls me out. People are too polite and panels aren't educational enough. Gmonad
A single community member can make a huge difference in the growth of a project. Ideally, they could set the standard for culture and kick off a positive flywheel of growth. Wind in sails
Internal devnet has been achieved. Frankenstein has a heartbeat.
This is an important milestone for our team. Load testing will continue before the phased release of permissioned testnet and public testnet.
Had an incredible time meeting so many members of the
@indonads_
family yesterday.
It was a magical day full of laughter, music, and joy at getting to meet old friends irl.
If you weren’t able to make it, no stress! Hope to meet you someday 💜
Shouts to the Monad OGs who've believed in the vision of parallel EVM
And the vision of improving the efficient frontier of decentralization & scalability
Since Dec 22, deep bear, when Monad Community opened its doors
Much more to come. Next year will be crazy. Enjoy 💜

For sure, an exchange could set a different fraud proof window (maybe a different amount by deposit size). But is there an actual reasonable middle ground that allows it to avoid self-executing? For example, for a large deposit, 6 hours seems quite aggressive given the number of

Thank you to the Monad Community for incredible support for ecosystem projects. It's incredibly impactful for builders to have Community Energy on their side. Powerful. Thank you!
Parallel Execution and Common Dependencies
The most common question we get asked regarding optimistic parallel execution is "what happens if the transactions have sequential dependencies? Won't that degrade into serial execution in the worst case?"
The answer is: yes, but it's
Asynchronous execution is the practice of moving execution out of the hot path of consensus in order to massively raise the budget for execution.
In most blockchains, execution is interleaved within the process of consensus, because the list of transactions has to be executed

Founders: write.

2) Helps the investor understand the background of why your project is needed without being a direct pitch

i think seed stage founders drastically underestimate how helpful it can be if they have previously published opinions and analysis about their company's idea-space online ahead of a fundraise.
We put up a solidity developer job posting recently and have been getting a lot of... uh... what I think are North Koreans
They seem to favor github usernames like SuperTalentedDev726 or CryptoKnight415 (lot of knights in our applicant pool) but it's def worrisome
When you're starting out, people will often give advice based on backsolving. "X is successful, and they did Y, therefore you should do Y"
Observing previous examples is helpful for ideation but success is highly context- and path-dependent. You have to think for yourself
Every day I am grateful for the support of an incredibly passionate and loyal Monad Community.
Incredible community members have made Monad what it is today. I am so grateful, and so excited for what's to come. 💜

Sourcing
1. You have to rely on sourcing rather than on inbound applicants. It works a lot better to define the kind of person that you want (and then try to go get them) rather than to sift through applications (and hope that someone
