There’s sooooooooo much dope Kenyan music to consume. Whatever genre rocks your boat. And not just singles, full on projects; tapes, EPs, mixtapes, albums.... And not just “mainstream” artists either, there’s too many hidden gems. Don’t sleep on 254 talent.
Kenyan Hip Hop fans need to start BUYING their favorite rappers’ merchandise and projects so that they’re at least able to live. Put your money where your mouth is.
Damn it feels like everyone I met at Homeboyz Radio isn’t there anymore.
DJ Andie, Rae, Mwalimu Rachel, Kwambox, Tallia, Kafi, Jack Rooster, Heno, Jinx now Max.
Almost feels like an entirely new station.
IDK who’s gonna see this but if you’re a fan of live performances (artists backed by a band) we’re setting something up at Nairobi Street Kitchen; “An NSK Special”.
It ain’t no industry, it’s a scene and it’s cliqued. Newbies are rarely welcomed to the table. Almost everything is a front. The politics behind closed doors are intolerable. Very few people are willing to take a risk cuz norm is safer.
Resignation handed in. Shawty gon be jobless for a minute so it’s now time for all the rich uncles to court and marry me because I ain’t on that independent shit no more 😂😂.
This is 2016. It takes years to be an “overnight success”. It’s the consistency for me. One time these guys almost got kicked off a stage cuz they wasn’t doing “real” Hip Hop. If they would have given up then, the story woulda been hella different. This is your cue to keep going.
The little girl in me is SO happy Usher is getting his flowers. He deserves it. He has made music for different generations and stayed relevant throughout. From 9 years old to 45. Getting erased/washed in the entertainment industry is EASY
so you gotta respect that.

Scar & Timmy Blanco are the hardest rappers out rn. The wordplay, poetic license, flow, rhyme schemes. I love it when I listen to a record & have to rewind to catch bars again.
That time backstage with AKA, 2017. To this day his performance at Blankets remains one of the best Hip Hop shows I’ve EVER witnessed. May he truly rest in peace. A man with immense, undisputed talent.
I really wanna see Wakadinali do a well choreographed live show with a band. Clear vocals. Great co-ordination between themselves, the band and even the crowd. Great trio but that performance bit is wanting IMO.
Need a tall, handsome, bearded, in shape nigga to be my date for something on Saturday. You gotta look good. Like if I walk in the room with you people won’t know where to look cuz we both look SO good.
Also good conversation. I’m dead ass serious so if you fit the description DM
Dating men with jobs gets me excited. Talmbout I got reports to do or a meeting to prepare for is such a turn on damn. I really don’t wanna hear nothing about subscribing to a nigga’s YouTube channel anymore 😂
I will forever stan MDQ's work ethic. I worked with her in 2017 and she demanded excellence from me. There's so many lessons I learned from her that I apply in my work to this day. I move different because I was inspired by queen muva. No basics.
If you’re seeing this here’s your reminder to check out my YT channel. I’ve got some dope content already on there and my podcast visuals are finally ready to share. Subscribe, will ya? ☺️

Enyewe what Nyashinski said is true, “Kabla jina yako igrow jipe miaka ka nane”. What he didn’t say is the way your heart will break so much in the process. Mambo ni mengi.
My list of hard KE rappers (undisputed to me) so far has:
Scar
Blanco
Jakk Quill
Guys who spit bars fr fr. Guys who’ve made me rewind their music to catch a line or metaphor again.
I invited my Mom and Dad for the awards. Dunno if they're gonna pull up but this is the first time, in 6 years, that I'm actually getting a cheque that means something and I want them to be a part of that. I just want them to come see what their daughter been doing.
I ask this peacefully, why can't we enjoy Nyashinski's live without trying to pull down OTHER Kenyan artists?
We can love them all, you know. Or you can choose who you love and support them.
I love doing this radio thing. First time somebody told me I had a great voice was in high school n I didn’t even know what it meant but now it’s like the top 2 things people compliment me on.
Maybe I could do voice acting or ads one day. IDK. What you think? 😌
Wakadinali got the Midas touch because all their records are bangers and will have you feeling like you’re the baddest motherfucker out in these streets, even if you have never lived in the ghetto.
Are they the hottest Hip Hop duo out right now?
How dope does
@GMONEYizME
look in this hoodie? Get you some custom made UnKut hoodies today. They're perfect for the weather! Thanks for supporting, G!
Wakadinali's performance game has grown so much because what the fuck am I watching right now? And they pulled up in suits! Fuckkkkkk. Amazing.

Blanco’s verse on Khali Cartel 2 is not talked about enough.
“Heaven or hell you got two options
You don’t belong in the booth, stop it
You taking the L like a new driver
You don’t make the cut like a new
barber
Boss nigga so I move proper
Big cheque when I’m shoe shoppin

Like did y’all pay attention to Scar’s verse on The Rong Cypher??
“Na kwa mahater bado BI-FU ndio ngeli”
Remember Swahili classes in high school tukifunzwa ngeli? Ngeli ya A-WA for living things etc. So it’s a play on that as he says still ain’t no love on these ends.
Put respect on my name. Half of newschool

CULTURE is thriving because I stuck my neck out and made sacrifices and toiled. You gon learn to respect my hustle even when you don't like me.
Kenyan rap only has fans when some whack shit is happening. When guys are making dope music and releasing dope ass visuals it's, "Kenyan Hip Hop is dead".
😂 😂 😂 😂 😂
Went to Amapiano Sundays a couple weeks ago. The whole night all they did was play Amapiano and it had me thinking, when Gengetone became a wave, si someone would have started Gengetone Sundays and then get all these acts to perform? Or a Kenyan Music Sundays.
Now I believe Musau when he said the plan was to build Bouty up, get him through the door and then he’d open those for everyone in the gang. Beautiful, beautiful scenes. Even on his Boiler Room set he had Groovy Jo perform. Love 👏🏽 to 👏🏽 see 👏🏽 it!!!!
The UnKut Team.
Chela - Set Designer
Before Chela came into my life I had no idea how important set design is to the look & feel of an event. Always felt like all you needed was a dope location, good sound and a great lineup and that’s it.
BRUH. They put my face on a t-shirt. Shoulda seen me receiving this. How they nail it so good? Ughhhhhhhh. MY heart. Peep @ wama_customz on IG for dope graffiti. They won Best Clothing Brand at
