As excited as I am for "Twisters", this official movie poster cannot be ignored. The tornado looks super fake and cheap, and the characters aren't even looking at it. They look like they have no situational awareness and are about to wind up in a Skip Talbot postmortem video.

A large intense tornado tracked near Sulphur Springs, TX today. A 2nd tornado formed out of a circulation that rotated around the south side of this larger tornado. The 2 tornadoes continued simultaneously for several minutes. The same storm would later hit Idabel, OK. #txwx

I was going to draw Morton, TX '22, but I wasn't feeling it. Instead, I decided to switch it up and do a drawing of supercell structure, and what better storm to draw than the legendary Stratton, NE F4 from June 15, 1990. The drawing starts with a base layer of smeared charcoal.

My favorite place to be at sunset when chasing an MCS is on the backside, when skies are clear to the west, to catch spectacular #mammatus clouds. This photo was taken near Turpin, OK on 6/17, a few hours before Tulsa, OK was ravaged by 80-100mph winds.
