Agatha on the other hand was so excited. And as soon as she stepped in the dress, so was I. 😁 The anxious bride I was on a video call with just 6 days earlier was soo happy!And it made me so happy! She looked soo good and there really was no other dress Agatha needed to be in!

So it starts with a sketch. I design the artwork that you see on all our embroidered dresses. I sketch it by hand, because I personally dont feel that digital design gets the detail as intricate as I like it… plus I’m not the beat with technology 🤣.

Yheppp. I get my frontals custom made with our illusion tulle so that i don’t have to tint it or add make up for it to match my skin. I made this wig and did the install too, so it would be even more seamless if an actual hair stylist did it.

When I’ve given the BTS process before, people say things like ‘don’t give away all your secrets’. True, certain methods, suppliers etc will never be shared, but what is required to achieve this, is far beyond imitation. First you must enter my brain to invent that artwork.

Because it’s all beading, the application involves a lot of hand appliqué and stitching- so that the embroidery is not damaged and all seams are tight. 😍

As much as there is an intentional element of exclusivity with our bespoke bridal range. We’re working on a new collection for release this Autumn, with a slightly more affordable price tag to reach a wider audience that otherwise wouldn’t be able to buy one of our dresses.

Because our dresses are quite big and detailed, we split up the panels in to about 4-5 pieces and have between 5-10 embroidery technicians working on it simultaneously- this is important in order for us to keep up with demand.

We are already fully booked, so in order to ensure completion of Agatha’s dress, with zero compromise on quality, we would have to divide the labour in such a way that it did not interrupt our schedule for other brides dresses and didn’t overwhelm staff and affect performance.

So we split her production in 4 parts that could be done simultaneously- her corset, main fabric cutting & sewing, lining cutting and sewing, gloves cutting and sewing, which all lightened the load for 1 person to work on all the finishings and the dramatic sleeve detail. 🙌🏾

10.30pm Agatha arrives. Now, I’ve fit hundreds of brides in my career, but regardless of the fact, my chest ALWAYS does a little nervous jump whenever a bride comes for her fitting. ESPECIALLY, when she only has 1 fitting and a flight booked in a couple of hours!!

My virtual consultation with Agatha was scheduled for Wednesday evening. After which, we sent her our measuring guide to send us back her measurements by Thursday morning. Thursday: we created her pattern ready for her toile (mock dress) to be made on Friday.
