Thinking a lot about my time at Activision and I still can't get over how absurd and unnecessary the Cold War crunch was 9-14 hour shifts, working most every weekend, getting one or two days off a month All during a pandemic And it went on way longer than you'd think

A student asked me what they could do to start learning QA stuff and my best idea was 1. Load up an open world game 3. Try to break a thing 4. Write up instructions to break the thing 5. Send it to a friend 6. If they can repro the issue then congrats you wrote a good bug

The only real advice I have for anyone trying to get into QA is that you should run if a bug quota is ever mentioned. Like I've had projects where I had the highest and lowest bug counts. It doesn't mean anything

There have been so many great games in 2023. I wish we could get past the rhetoric that a game not nominated in a category is unworthy or bad. It simply didn't make the cutoff in a highly competitive year. Even if a game wasn't nominated, maybe it was #6 or #7 in voting.
