In speaking with a friend we agreed that how one dies is an excellent indicator of the quality of that person's life.
I recalled reading a book of Zen Death Poems, and how touched I was by the elegant tracelessness of the passing of the masters.
Derek's video is a different…
This is a must watch.
At 11:44 on he reveals the secret magic at the core of IFS,
which is also the core of unfolding, and circling,
and love.

I am struck by the preparation Derek and his family must have put into releasing this last video.
A dying man had to prepare it, and to summon the strength to record this (one?) take. Someone had to add the date of his death, finish the edit, and click "upload".
Grateful.

I am deeply suspicious of the teachings of people who died of chronic disease, cancer, alcoholism etc.
There is a link between the health of the bodymind and the health, depth of insight and maturity of the spiritual practice of that bodymind.

For those still living, there is a gravitas to what words were chosen at this transition.
Like still water, I feel
Sure in my place between
Ground and Sky.
Like this awareness, I feel
Sure in my place between
Life and Death.
But was I not both, in one?
